Hello Lily,

There is a "special" part of the forum to chat about things non-rowing related. It's called the Sanctuary because we go there to get away from the erg. You can find it here: viewforum.php?f=4 if I've got the link embedded properly in this post.

If not then click on Board Index at the top of the page and then on The Sanctuary.

If you go along you get to play the slowest version of Name That Tune in the world

Welcome aboard by the way. My answer to your question is sort of the other way around for your question. I referee rugby in the winter and return to the pain of the erg in the summer as long as my garage isn't an oven!

... I'm dragging my erg out onto the terrace :D Seriously, it's a mix of erging (for the not so nice days), rowing on the water, running and biking.
Athletes row, others just play games

As usual, I've started heading back into the woods to ride my mountain bike on our beautiful trails when they aren't too wet. So far only three rides, but that should ramp up as the weather becomes drier.

Hi Lily - I've been running nearly every day - not driven so much by weather (I live in California, we don't get snow), but more by long long days at work. It's been a frantic pace in 2017 for whatever reason. Going running in the evening gives me more of a sense of getting somewhere - we have wonderful rolling hills and everything is in bloom right now. The other night a heavy fog hung over the neighborhood and that makes for ideal running conditions.

Still erging here and there!

Inline skating! The closest part of the local 50+ mile bike trail (LIttle Miami State Park in Ohio USA) is being repaved this month so it will be smooth skating for 14 miles.
