Interesting to see that my dummy run from last month was only slightly slower than Alan and Steve's efforts. Maybe I might be able to give you both a run for your money, once I've shaken off this cold. I'm now in Alvor, so hopefully I will be back in the saddle before too long.

I always tend to do relatively better in the sprint intervals, where my current lack of aerobic fitness has less impact than over longer distances.

Oxygen please.....

I hate sprints! So therefore I programmed the 7 intervals with only 2 pauses.
4min before the 777 and 3 after; now knowing I should have done it the other way around as I started dying in the 7th interval.
Following splits and stroke rate:
1:36.3 30
1:34.3 31
1:36.8 30

1:36.9 28

1:36.8 28
1:38.3 29
1:40.2 27

Happy with result until I saw that Erik is only 1.6s ahead ;-)

Anyway not sure I want to do this once more....

Well done everyone having a go so far. =D> Very interesting to see the different approaches.

I opted for Paul's plan of :45 and 2:00 rest. Didn't know what to expect at all. Just winging it.

177 1:37.1 / 37
177 1:37.1 / 37
177 1:37.1 / 35 Had no idea these were so tight until I reviewed the logcard.

777 1:43.3 / 32 Starts off deceptively easy, then after a minute legs are gone and you realize you're not even halfway done. I tried to give this
everything I had and figured the last 3 short reps would take care of themselves

177 1:36.8 / 38
177 1:36.3 / 39 Just hoping to get final average under 1:40
177 1:32.6 / 40 Tried to hit 1:30 on every stroke but never saw it.

Total 6:05.1__ 1:39.2 / 36

I think the rests worked out well. Now that I have a baseline maybe can push toward 6 min...

Ok, wow. That hurt. A lot. So tired I forgot to take a photo of the 2nd half. It was a lot slower than the first half Image
Might sneak a few more seconds with better pacing but don't really fancy doing it again

Nice work all! This ones a bit more in my wheelhouse. 1st set of 177's were pretty uneventful but I could tell pain was looming on horizon. Thought I went out too quick on 777 but got into a groove and held 1:34.5. 2nd 2:00 rest flew by and last 3 hurt. Will probably do at least one more but happy with this. Back to you Felton.Image

2nd go using my first go as a target. This hurt:
36.0 - 1:41.6
36.5 - 1:43.1 (wasn't set as I had forgotten to bring a pen in for my notepad and had to get it)
36.0 - 1:41.6
2:45.6 - 1:46.5
36.3 - 1:42.5
36.4 - 1:42.8
35.6 - 1:40.6
6:22.5 for a 6.2s improvement

Inspired by Dave's great improvement I managed a 2nd effort without handling down this morning for a 4.8sec improvement so knocked Steve out of Boat No.2-sorry Steve

I think thats about my limit as I had the cough after this one

I used a higher DF159 this time and 1' rests apart from after the 777m when I took 2'

6:10.8-1839-1:40.8-44

33.9 - 1:35.7-44
34.1 - 1:36.3-44
34.2 - 1:36.6-44
2:42.9 -1:44.8-40
35.2 - 1:39.4-44
35.2 - 1:39.4-48

My back is really sore at the moment, hips are mis-aligned which is impacting lower back. Fingers crossed I can sort it for another bash at this before month end.

This has to be my least enjoyable C2CTC for a long time. I am not a sprinter and I am out of shape too when it comes to the erg, so it was always going to be painful.

6:22.8 1:44.0 33

0:34.9 1:38.5 34
0:34.9 1:38.5 33
0:35.3 1:39.7 34
2:49.6 1:49.1 30
0:36.0 1:41.6 33
0:36.2 1:42.2 33
0:36.0 1:41.6 35

I was going to say that I am never going to do this again....but I can't sit just 0:00.3 behind Plummy!!

Second go with an attempt to hold 1:42s (slight slip on the final sprint). If there's time to be lost, it'll be in the 777m:
Time Meters /500m Watts Cal/Hr s/m 6:32.8 1,839m 1:46.8 287 1286 35 0:35.8 177m 1:41.1 338 1462 37 0:36.1 177m 1:41.9 330 1434 37 0:36.1 177m 1:41.9 330 1434 37 2:55.7 777m 1:53.0 242 1132 27 0:36.2 177m 1:42.2 327 1424 35 0:36.3 177m 1:42.5 325 1417 36 0:36.5 177m 1:43.1 319 1396 36
Having set the damper to 8, I'm slightly bemused to see that the drag factor being measured at 117. By no stretch do I think this is helping/hindering my times, but perhaps these gym machines need some TLC....

There are some seriously impressive times being posted ^O^ ^O^
