I did Alan, and if I keep improving at that rate it "only" takes me two more attempts to beat your initial time (which will you have bettered by that time I'm sure).

Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
Well I am happy that I went for the IRL and the C2CTC at the beginning of the month, as I am almost not rowing at all for the moment due to pain. I really need to control the urge to step onto the erg.
However, when seeing how close Alan passed my time Ifor the IRL I really have to use my brains to stop me from trying to go for it.
If I would have listened to my brain instead of my urge and hunger to row in the passed weeks/months I would probably not suffer from the different pains due to overdoing it in my first season. Crazy, crazy....
Now I just need to work hard to get into the pain free zone again.
Hopefully in time for the January challenges of the IRL etc.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
After HD-ing halfway through my first attempt early this month , I was not looking forward to give this another go.
I thought I'd better get it done before the X-mas/end-of-the-year laziness grows even stronger.
Satisfied to have it done under 20 min. It's more than half a minute slower than my PB though.

A very slow attempt for me... still letting my elbow heal. Each week it feels slightly better.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
As we only had 7 scores entered this month, I felt I should put in an attempt. I did the December CTC (6344m) at 1:56.7 pace and I knew I would be much slower this month, but figured I should be able to get under 41 minutes and hopefully 40 minutes (2:00 pace) and I was determined to finish, come what may. It was something of a struggle, but I manged to keep going and got close to 2:00 pace, finishing in 20:05.7.
If I have no ill effects tomorrow, I may have another go on Saturday.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
Well, I mucked that up. Just re-did the November IRL instead of the December one. I'll try again tomorrow. If nothing else, at least I now have a measure of how far I've fallen in the last month. 2:14.3/500 on 11/29 down to 2:28.0/500 today. Been fighting respiratory crud. Thought it was just the lingering viral crud that's been going around this area. Monday before Christmas discovered water had gotten under the linoleum in the hall bathroom. Good news it the mold hadn't spread that far. Bad news is I am highly allergic to it. More good news - Jon is fabulous and had the whole thing taken care of, including the new floor installed, by Friday night. Now I just need to get back in shape for a race in February.

Welcome back Kirsten. Nice to see you back on the erg. Sorry to hear about your domestic problems, but glad to hear they have all been resolved.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
Thanks. It's good to be back to something resembling real rowing and not just paddling. Last minute, but IRL done and recorded. Faster than yesterday so maybe it's not such a bad thing that I did the wrong one yesterday.Paul Victory wrote:Welcome back Kirsten. Nice to see you back on the erg. Hi Kirstin - glad Jon had the mold issue under control quickly. You've done lots of great groundwork this year so here's to your fitness coming back in leaps and bounds. Cheers!

Only one week left and only two results so far (last time I checked on Sunday). Hope others can log a 1-minute row as well. Speed is less important than having a result at all.

I'm having an inflammation at the moment (Crohn's). I'm hoping it gets better soon before I lose more fitness, but I will put in a score before the end of the month.

I've been doing no erging lately due to lower back problems. But I think even I could manage to row for 1 minute (albeit very slowly), so I will do my best to put in an entry tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll get it done before the deadline. Not really my cup of tea but will try to post something relatively competitive

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
I did the challenge today Alan, as promised. To my great surprise, I managed to match your distance of 325m. Mind you, I had to rate 43SPM to do it. Hopefully, I won't pay the price in the form of additional back pain tomorrow.strider77 wrote:Yes come on folks its only Tako and me so far.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
With a drag factor of 135 I managed 296 m. Then with my normal df of 120, I did 2 metres more.
It's not much, but not much is still much better than nothing.

Done! Still trying to get back in the swing of things. Sprints are not my strength, but considering the last few months, I'm reasonably pleased with my score - and it was done immediately after the CTC. No erg access the next few days so it was today or never.
Rodger, hope you are feeling better soon.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
Hardly any rowing in the past two months because of my elbow.
However, in the past two weeks I've rowed several 10-min warm-ups and successfully completed several weight sessions. My elbow seems fully healed... but I'm still cautious.
I'll complete my IRL today or tomorrow, but it will be at a fairly slow pace.
Over the next few weeks I'll start adding mild 30-min sessions to my weekly routine to get back into the swing of things!
Cheers,
zoot

Nice one Felton!
I managed a rather humble 302m tonight as I'm fighting a beginning cold and didn't want to overdo it.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017
You're an animal Felton! Very well done.
Peter - very respectable for the beginnings of a cold! =D>
Posted a 294m this evening. Felt very strong for the first... er... 10 seconds. Held in for another 20 seconds, then my form completely disintegrated. Hope my elbow feels okay tomorrow.
Much, much better than I'd hoped for, but the last two months have definitely taken their toll.
Cheers,
zoot
