Re: 2016 World Erg Challenge
Well done Trevor, I am glad that you are cutting back -gives the rest of us a chance to catch up, you looked pretty done in on Friday.
Another HM before work at 6:15 a.m. in the gym, it was dark when I got there and beautiful sunshine when I left

Re: 2016 World Erg Challenge
You're funny. At least I'm assuming the puns are intentional. Yes, the walk was both and cool, with a brisk breeze and partly-cloudy skies. I'm warm when the temp exceeds 60 and I start to wilt at 70, so I definitely enjoy cool, foggy, beach weather. My wife does not agree.CamiCrew wrote:Eight miles?! That's a walk. California's little secret: all that looks sunny isn't necessarily warm.
Another good row, Alan. =D>
Upper body weights today, followed by a 30 min UT1.
This time the pace was 2:35 down from last week's 2:45, but my heart rate was higher (popping over into AT for the last 5 mins as I dropped the split to below 2:30.)
Cheers,

I am dropping off posting in the Challenge in the next few days as I travel north in NZ in preparation for flying back to UK. I don't arrive until 16th April so unless I find a rower in Las Vegas. That's about it for me.

Safe travels Chris. Saw you were online (rowpro) but joined up later. If you feel like a little 5hrs drive from Vegas you can use my erg.
See you in May!

Thanks Barbara but sadly i am going to have to turn you down. I am going to lie down by my cousins pool for 4 days, drink his cold beer and eat whatever roadkill comes off the BBQCamiCrew wrote:Safe travels Chris. Ha. I bet your pace was a lot faster, though!strider77 wrote:AHR 114 for me too !
Upper body weights, followed by a hard 30-min UT1 (bordering on AT for the last 10 mins).
2:30 pace, 20 spm, just over 6k. AHR 138.
Two rest days coming up, then I'll be back on Monday to do it all over again!
Cheers,

Re: 2016 World Erg Challenge
With 10 days to go, Free Spirits seems to be solidly in third place having surpassed 15 million meters with 125 of us recording a paddle or two.
There are some serious distances being logged.
4 have logged well over half a million meters each
and we have over 20 rowers recording over 200,000 meters. =D>

Great effort team, my metres are all done before work at 6 am in the gym not nice
Apart from the extra session I did last night to try and fight off Tony Cotton for third place

Re: 2016 World Erg Challenge
A couple of Wolverine Plan L4 workouts this week (posted in the WP thread), and a very slow (3:00) 90 min UT2 for today. 15K - longest row this season.

Re: 2016 World Erg Challenge
Cheers Paul.
I have to agree with you about Trevor, he is the only one who has joined FS from my gym after years of my rowing there and he is certainly a major asset to the team
We did an easy HM together yesterday then he went home and looks like he added another Marathon on his own brand new machine =D>
By the way I wish I could do 1:51 for the CTC in an unfit state

Paul and Strider -- thanks, guys! I'm just trying to build a base. Probably another 6 weeks before I try any speed work. Maybe longer. We'll see how it goes.

Go Alan! At least you are working off your overindulgence in Rio. Have never seen anyone eat so much Feijoada in one sitting! Oops, forgot, what happens in Rio stays in Rio.

Agree with Jill... GREAT EFFORT by Free Spirits. =D>
Serious kudos to Trevor (love the 1,111,111 tally) plus Dwayne, Tony and Alan all in the top 50 individuals. Wow!
Nice average per participant among the top teams, too.
Jill sure looks like a bug, they each have 116 set as their age. Odd.
Ps. MB told me your name might be on a yellow post-it on Alan's dresser.

The age thing happens if someone doesn't enter their date of birth when registering. Their date of birth defaults to 1 January 1900 (or possibly 31 December 1899!).
