Hi,
I did a comparison of the newly enhanced ErgData and the newly released product ErgStick over in a post over on my blog. If you are thinking about either of them, take a look.

Re: ErgStick and ErgData
Does the ErgStick provide the ability to get the raw data files from the USB itself or have you to upload the session to their website and get it from there?
Is the ErgStick data compatible to "quite common" tools like Strava, SportTracks, GoldenCheetah or TrainingPeaks?

Re: ErgStick and ErgData
ErgStick works only with the ErgStick app on the iPhone. The data is then trapped in the app unless you pay for the "pro" version which will let you send it as a CSV file.dr3do wrote:Does the ErgStick provide the ability to get the raw data files from the USB itself or have you to upload the session to their website and get it from there?

The csv data is in a format unique to ErgStick, but I'm sure you could find or make a way to get the data into sport tracks or training peaks.

That's a bummer in my opinion. Any serious app of today should seamlessly sync/export to the big training log apps/sites, like Strava, Polar, Garmin, SportTracks or others, or feature a tcx export.

Re: ErgStick and ErgData
Both ErgData and ErgStick seem to have a vested interest in NOT doing that. ErgData really wants to get folks to put their meters on the C2 site to help promote that angle for their product marketing. ErgStick seems to be very closely aligned to the website "rowe.rs". The ErgStick folks have talked about support for other types of export (I assume at a price).sander wrote:That's a bummer in my opinion. The other solution that I think has a lot of potential is Painsled. It is in Beta now and they seem to have found the cause of the bug that was causing me grief. It already provides TCX output, and the developer (Rick) says that he wants to add support for seamless uploads to various services over time.
ErgData is a good idea for me because I like the idea of the Concept2 online logbook being my main repository. Now I have to convince Concept2 to open up the logbook so that I can upload from speedcoach or RIM, then I will really be in business!

ErgStick and ErgData
I do too much cross training to be able to use cross fit. The desktop version of Painsled has tcx export - and it is extendable through plugins. I hope the iOS version is similar.
You know, as a Free Spirit I want my data to be free. We should really start propagating a standard CSV or TCX file for rowing data (erg and water).

I wish Concept2 would support .fit files (or at least .tcx files) natively by their PM's.We should really start propagating a standard CSV or TCX file for rowing data (erg and water).
I asked several times for this feature. I also asked for full ANT+ support for PWR, SPD, S&C, FIT and FE-C, so every ANT+ device (which supports those common profiles) could be connected with the PM and we would get our raw data.
Unfortunately Concept2 is not interested in this topic at all.

Send me your RIM or Speedcoach data and I will help you with that.gregsmith01748 wrote:Both ErgData and ErgStick seem to have a vested interest in NOT doing that. Not difficult (any more) and it will be my payback for shamelessly stealing your Python colorful plotting code.
