I'm going to start posting more regularly on this thread and hopefully that will help to keep me more 'honest'. The other thing I need to do straight away is to stop buying junk - once it's in the house I'll eat it, if it's not there, it requires a bit more effort to overeat.
How are things progressing, Paul?

I find that I have to be very careful when shopping -- once it's in the house, I eat it! If possible I eat before I go shopping... and make sure I'm well-rested, otherwise everything looks good.

Thanks for asking Zoot. I've not really been behaving myself in terms of buying junk - there's quite a lot of chocolate in the house at present. I've also been doing very little rowing. My physio has referred me back to my GP, and my GP has arranged for an MRI scan to be done on my back. That's scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Despite this, my weight has dropped a bit since the last weigh in, mainly because I have done quite a lot of walking. I'd like to get back into erging regularly, but don't feel any motivation to do so at present.

Walking is very good. 8) It is my 'go-to' exercise when I can't exercise how I'd like. Especially when I have lower back pain. (I walked 9 miles yesterday while waiting for the mechanic to fix my truck...)

P.S. If you need me to take the chocolate off your hands, PM me and I'll give you my address.

More than happy to do that, but I'd probably just buy some more.

Found myself with some down time today ahead of getting my car serviced, so what should I do.....

Finished in a very zen-like 1:35:47.6. At least it will assist in getting past 100km for the current C2 charity challenge

My weight seems to have stubbornly stood still for the past couple of weeks, so I think (what with the very real risk of twigglets and mint matchmakers in the immediate future) I shall hide the scales until mid January....

PS tried again 18/12/16: 1:32:35.2.

Well done with the 'zen-like' HMs, Ian! =D>

Okay, I have to ask: what are twigglets and mint matchmakers?

Twigglets are my personal Christmas nemesis (I'm disturbed to see they have their own wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twiglets ). Mint matchmakers are a comparatively benign product: chocolate covered mint.

It's no good. Must. Go. Shopping.

I'm more disturbed to read that "An internet meme was created from Justin Bieber eating a Twiglet on the Alan Carr talk show." Mint matchmakers would be my nemesis. :P

====================

On a positive note: today is the first time I've seen the scale dip below 199 pounds (90.5 kg) since 2006! I am very pleased that I am controlling my hunger and food intake even when not exercising. It bodes well for long-term sustainability! 8)

2016 - or easy come, easy go :?: :!:

started a year ago with 90kgs, thanks to erging and a little bit of biking i landed in the end of August on 84,5kg...was happy about, but my target was 80kgs. This silly accident brings back 2, 5kg and this flu 2days after dec. ctc (i´d do never a ctc with a flu) and christmas + new years feast cost again 2,5kg- so here i am- 89,5kg - so the balance is -0,5kg :?

thats my short review for 2016

Good luck with it Paul

Zoot-amazing year for you well done =D>

Every year I set a goal and I never hit it -this year it is 82.7kg which in old money is 13 stone or 182 lbs.

I have decided to log my poor attempts so you can all have a go at me and shame me into doing it

I am going to attempt to run and row on alternate days to see if it helps and also only have treats and drink at weekends

Best of luck with the weight loss Alan. There's actually a 2017 thread, so probably makes more sense to post your progress there.
