Re: Madchester 2016 - is ON!
Hope you had a pleasant flight, Peter
In the past couple of days have been training mainly towards the 1k. Did some 4x200m+1´, and yesterday did some 500m reps followed by a 750m in 2:20.4 1:33.6 37spm so that was encouraging. So really looking forward to the 1k race, and of course meeting everyone, some for the 1st time And the wheather forecast is looking good, too
Will be off tomorrow very early in the morning..

Hah, don't worry about it. I hardly ever get called Steventon!!! If only this Stevenson guy would pay the bills that are addressed to him instead of me!
Thanks for posting this - it certainly didn't feel as easy as it looks in this video!! A great example of how someone in your ear can keep the demons at bay though. Stuart was a star!

Re: Madchester 2016 - is ON!
I'm go To post something fuller on my blog - but I just wanted to say a huge thanks to Plummy for arranging yesterday. The logistics behind making that happen must have been huge, but not once did it look like it. Thanks to both of you for welcoming us into your house, for the food, the drink, and in my case the support to do more than I could have dreamed of.

Thanks to Dave and more importantly Janet for throwing open their doors to let in the sweaty free spirits rabble. In a weird way the rowing was good, with some impressive times from many, and then to get fed afterwards was a bonus. Great to meet a number of faces from last year as well as a couple of new ones too.

Sounds like it was good fun! Excellent initiative and impressive times. I regret not being able to be there and cheer for all those record attempts.

Re: Madchester 2016 - is ON!
We had a great time yesterday at Madchester. Thanks again to Dave and Janet - everything went smoothly so there must have been a lot of organising behind the scenes.
It was really good to meet everybody. Although it was a bit scary to row in public for the first time, we both managed to beat our targets for the 5k, helped by some cheering on
It was fantastic to see John break the British Record, and Erik powering along beside him (with some people standing on the erg legs to keep it from moving )
There seems to have been some funny business going on with ergdata picking up rows from other people? I rowed on John's erg after he'd done his British Record, and when I uploaded my warmup and 5k, I noticed that I had also ended up with a 1k at 3:04 on the Concept2 web site Of course I was very happy with that result , but in the end I decided to delete it from the web site and my ergdata logs
Barbara - you seem to have ended up rowing over 21k at Madchester - you did start off like a whirlwind on your row, but I didn't think you clocked up that many meters A very good PB though - and Rob as well!
Paul - you must know yourself that trying to do a HM after Madchester and the flight home was never going to be easy
We've got the excuse that we've still got to put our erg back together, so no rowing today, although we still have to work off those doughnuts (and Jill's brownies and apple tart)
Hope that everybody got back home safely, and hope to see you all again in the future.
Sheena and Jan
