(I hit send to quick on that last reply, and am too lazy to hit the edit button this morning it seems)

So - I've gone through the monthly totals so far for everyone, and here's where we are:

Image

2080Km in - and about 7400 to go. If we're all still putting in the meters, we could get this done by the end of February!

Which will give us a good few months to relax with a drink in our hand, and our toes in the sand.

Not sure if this is an issue or not...

I joined FS on December 31st. I don't remember if my cumulative batch of meters for the season posted to the meterboard on the 31st or the 1st. If it posted on the 1st you may have an incorrect total of meters for me for the month. I'm at 98967 for the month after my row this morning.

Ah, thanks Kirstin! I had you at 160,000 ish, but as I can't work out who MacFan really is - it may be that it would be the same anyway.

Nick and Lee both had large lump-sums on one of their days, so I've rounded them down to 200,000 for the month so far. If they could let me know if I've been a bit over-ambitious, that would be useful!

I'll drop anchor until I hear more.

Hi Jon,

"MacFan" on the forum is Guenther Heldt on the meterboard (currently at #30).
Athletes row, others just play games

Yes, I haven't been quite that ambitious :D. For January so far I've rowed 110,951 meaning I had 362,927 prior to that in the season. Hope that simplifies the work for you.

Hi John

Glad to see you sailed close enough to Dublin for me to hop on for a while.

So far this season, I've always entered my meters on the day I rowed them (obsessive, moi? ) but you can expect something of a reduction in my contribution (and probably quite a few gaps) over the next five weeks as I am heading off to New Zealand tomorrow.

Hoping to do a few more meters before I go, but lots of things to sort out, so may not get the opportunity.

Hi John,

Just a heads up that I had a borkage with the beta ErgData (or possibly my brain) and my numbers are going to look odd as a bunch were deleted and added back. My total for the year at this point is 250,567 and to calculate manually (hopefully for the last time) you can subtract the 362,927 I had prior to Jan 1st from my current total.

Sorry for the mess

Ok, so we've been doing very well!! It seems the January challenge led a lot of us to really put our backs into it.

3746Km in a month between us all. That ain't too shabby!! 9,500Km (and a bit) from Scottish Rowing centre at Strathclyde Park to Rio. So we should get this done by March!

Thanks. Seems like we are doing well. Do we know how the other groups are doing? And whatever will we do when we arrive in Rio so far ahead of schedule?

As february draws to a close, we've all ben eating our protein bars and drinking red wine with diet-coke in order to keep the boat moving. And it was a good month. With one day of February left, we moved 2695Km closer to Rio.

The downside is, we're beginning to run out of vaseline, and things are beginning to chafe...

6441Km in total. Around 3000 to go!!

So we have an update from Scottish Rowing. We're in the lead!! Heriot Watt university are chasing us, but as long as we keep on pushing on, we should be at the bar drinking cocktails before them.

Thanks for the update. Go team! (As the Americans would say).

I haven't contributed much to the team total recently, but my physio told me today that I can start doing some gentle erging over the next few days provided I don't go too far forward on the catch. So hope to be able to make some contribution towards maintaining our lead.

Hey boatmates, I'm going to update Scottish Rowing tomorrow with the meters covered in March. I'm hoping we'll be almost there, and will only need a couple of weeks to get there.

Wow we've been eating our Shredded Wheat in March! The total is now 10,589Km!! Which means we managed 4,148km in March alone!!! There were some huge numbers going on - loads of 200,000+ and a few 400,000+!!

It seems the March Madness and Virtual Challenge has lit a fire under the team!

What does all this mean? It means we're in Rio folks!! And we've been circling around looking for somewhere to park the boat.

Well done folks!

Thank you John for organising everything. =D> :)

What happened to Heriot Watt University - they appear to have sunk without trace ... Or am I missing something here? It wouldn't surprise me.  :)
