Just to confirm - this is a VIRTUAL team - but you must row in your "slot" in the 24 hours and promise to post your metres in this thread when you complete them.

I have tried to compile the previous posts in to a new running order - please copy and paste in to your post when signing up.

JanetS - the baby is awake at 5:30am? Outrageous.

I have spent many very happy hours walking our various babies around the countryside at such hours.

At the time it feels bad but the scenery and feeling at that time of day is priceless. I hesitate to say it, but please enjoy those hours.

(By the way I have 5 kids and each one has forced me to enjoy those early morning hours).

Incidentally, having seen your comments on Mr Sims "nice" mod D, I also have one in my garage on the A31 that you are welcome to.

Thomas, as I mentioned I work at home on a Wednesday and can be flexible between school times for this challenge. Feel free to switch my hour (or I'll do 2?) as you see fit. My 60 min PB is 14142 but I'm willing to test that.

Stuck myself in for 1600 if that's OK!

Hey Mr Webberg, with our PB's only 20 metres apart should make an interesting side issue?

If the Uni crew are using 3 rowers, should we run this for 3 x 24 hours? Then we can do a million metres?

Here is what I can do: a couple of hours GMT small hours. If anyone really does not want me to be greedy, I'll be happy to give up on one of the slots...
Oh, and I think the idea of stretching this for three days is great. I'd be happy to another couple of rows!

You're all quite nuts!

But go on then. If we are doing another day I can do the mid/late evening GMT.

Also somebody challenged me on this thread to a PB duel on the 60 mins. (Apologies that I can't remember and the posts are long here). That's all I need - more motivation.

Anyway, I'm up for that.

I'll be aiming at around 14250. :?

I meant to say how interesting that is. He can't row for Brunel but he can row for us. Perhaps he'd like to do one of the time-slots in our race against Brunel - maybe we could get him to join Free Spirits! :) If he does, maybe we should get him a Free Spirits T-shirt - what is his size? I am sure we'll always have room for Olympic gold medalists in Free Spirits.

Damn. :( Didn't realise he was an ex-student. I guess you do get first dibs then. ;).

And re trying to keep it going for three days - I am "game on", but lets see if this one fills up! I was wondering if we could ping some messages to people like Zach Ellison who seems to churn out mega metres but you don't hear from on the forum (maybe he lurks).

I have asked Zach - he is interested, but judging from what he has said he is on a pretty strict regime and may not be able to slot in. Are you still provisional?

I would rather wait until the event gets closer, but if necessary and if the number of meters do not matter, I could take the 03:00 GMT slot too.

I could do 2 x 60 min rows with a short (1-2 minute) break between them. However, if I am rowing back-to-back, neither one of them will be a PB attempt, hence ~ 12,000 or so meters per row (at UT1 I do 12,000 m in ~ 58 min).

Also it might be kind of hard to keep this going for 3 days since it is the holiday time which means parties, kids school plays and concerts and the last minute packing/shopping if you are leaving town.

My provisional stuff is just so that other team members know they can take those slots if it's all they can do. I'm expecting to do at least 2 sessions, and can make it 3 if required, but I don't want to stop others having a go and joining in.

Can't see us managing to keep this up over 3 days at that point in the year. Maybe a better plan is to set up a real week long continuous pull thing for end of April, when people will all be doing marathons anyway (3 hour sessions) and this may fill out more easily.
