It was NOT fun and I have decided that I am definitely a sprinter. I take my hat off to all those that do this sort of thing regularly.

I started a warm down and lasted 36m because my bum told me it was all too much. Sitting on a soft cushion now.

I will not be doing another until April - and then only maybe!
Thomas, excellent job. Before your "times signature" changed, I thought I saw that you took ~19 minutes off your previous marathon time. That is awesome!

I have been doing more sprinting/interval work and I have the opposite thoughts as you... I'm not a sprinter, give me a 1/2 marathon any day :).

The video is now working (I made it private by mistake).

And yes, it was 18 minutes better, but the previous two marathons were "get there" rather than "get there fast", and were set when I thought 40 minutes for 10,000m was fast (current PB 37 and change).

Yes! It is all relative of course. I am 7" taller (corrected) than you and have 10kg on you (I am discounting the lard which is another 10kg and is a handicap).

7" taller and you are making the erroneous assumption that I don't have any lard! :)

Great time Petr - your training is going great at the moment, with a whole load of good times lately. I'm jealous!

Hello everyone!

Congratulations all to finishing marathon :)

I rowed my first "serious" marathon yesterday. My last one was only "lazy" one because of tiredness (a lot of work, rowing late in the night and so on..). It was only for 100 nonathlon points.

My yesterday results :

2:55:19,7 :D :D :D

I lost 20 secs because I forgot to switch on the light in the room. I was finishing late in the afternoon, so I rowed last 5 km in the dark. :)

Thank you Mike for noticing and appreciation of my progress.

My training is still chaotic without a special goal or challenge (so is my life nowadays - I´m taking care of my small son, my wife has been in the hospital lately...)

Petr that is an amazing time. Well done.

Great time Oliva, I'm not sure if rowing the last 5k in the dark is a benefit or not!

Did my 2nd ever FM today and managed to beat the 3 hour mark at 2:58.6.4 but boy was it tough. Am not going to do another for a while now.

It appears that marathon fever hasn't been completely irradicated yet. Great times Oliva and Dave.

I think I will wait until April before tackling it again, maybe on Patriots Day, April 16th (Massachusettes State Holiday, day of the Boston Marathon).

Fantastic Marathon Petr - 2:55 makes me very jealous.

Thanks Stan - been struggling a bit lately - the weather has been very hot and sticky making the rowing really hard work - plan to do a few FM's this week to get some distance under my belt and get back on track - still want a sub-40 10k and a 19:15 5k by month end.
BTW - good to see you getting back into it again.

Happy Rowing

Stop encouraging Ironar$e!!

What do you mean a "few" more marathons this week?

Arrgghhh! Buried again.....

Seriously - respect.
3 hours a day regularly, especially in the heat is amazing.

Heat..ah yes...I remember that.
It came before the dark, cold and wet stuff..... :(

Mucho respect to all of you posting FM times here.
As someone who's just completed his first HM I can only imagine the agony & comitment to finish a FM, let alone multiple ones within short time periods
I know I'll do one one day (maybe the day of the London marathon in April next year), but mean while I'll happily read all these great deeds.
Thanks all, inspirational as ever (not me, the thread :) ).

Doing a FM is not as daunting as it might seem, provided you've done a reasonable amount of preparation.

Doing one FAST is a whole different thing...

But, of course, the key is the ....

... wait for it ....

.... still waiting .....

the PACING!
