Sorry if I didn't make it clear above. They both effectively mean the same - "save me money on postage".

The reason some items have the option and some not, is that some are custom made (and NEED to be collated for savings on the item price), and some are the same price regardless, and so, except for the small extra postage cost, they may as well send them out straight away. Hence the difference in wording.

Let me know if this still doesn't make sense.

For your question Mike: Let me know if this still doesn't make sense.

If it makes sense or not, that doesn't matter for me now, because now i know what it means.

No for real now. Maybe it makes sence for several people, i don' t know. But it would be easyer with a short explanation of the difference concerning those two opportunities.

kind regards,
Eddes

eddes - welcome to the forum :)

(Edited later having looked at doing an order!)

Let me try and explain.

If you want all your kit to arrive in one bundle some time in February (which saves on postage) then select:
"Hold my order until cut off date (+£)". It looks like the "Put my order on file to collate (+£)" text is not used any more and I will edit the kit page accordingly.

If you don't mind paying full price - and getting faster delivery then select Send me this as soon as possible - but you will pay the maximum price since your kit will be a special one-off order.

The idea behind the "collation date" is that the "custom made" items (like the performance Tees) are MUCH more expensive if they are made as one-offs. By collating, Godfrey get to make maybe four of these items in one go, which is much more efficient for them and they pass the savings on to us.

Two quotes from Godfrey:

1) When the item is NOT custom made (i.e. a stock item) - and just has our logo put on:
If your club is currently collating orders with us, you can select the option to “send this item as soon as possible” to have this item delivered direct to you outside of your club order. The only difference is that you may save on postage costs if you chose to collate this order with the rest of your club.

2) When an item is custom made for us:
Custom garments can take up to 4 weeks to manufacture depending on our current workload.
If your club is currently collating orders with us, please select this from the options below. We will not charge you until the whole of your club has placed its order, and then we will only charge the relevant price (for the quantity of items ordered by your club).

Mike Channin wrote:(1) Is there any possibility of getting alternative back prints on the t-shirts so that could be customised more. (Reason I'm asking is that we could use them for achievement type things if this is possible - I'm happy to discuss this with Godfrey if need be)
I am certain that if we wanted something special on the back we could arrange it by email and it would be in the region of £2-4 more for specialised text. Sub-7 can choose what goes on the back at a cost of £4. Because ours are all the same it is a built in cost of £2.
Mike Channin wrote:(2) What is the sizing like on the Zephyrs. From what I remember, these things tend to be very loose, and I'd probably go down a size, but need to check.
Sizing is the same as the normal T-shirts. See http://www.godfrey.co.uk/articleviewer.php?selarticle=5
Mike Channin wrote:(3) Anybody up for a Free Spirits Rugby Shirts, or polo shirts? (more a team qn - that)
For me, rugby shirts.

 Good question. To be honest, top international rugby shirts are more like the performance tee - skin tight.

But a rugby shirt in this context is a thick cotton shirt with a white collar. The collar has buttons but they are hidden under a piece of material.

This is the example one from godfrey:

I am guessing Mike is thinking "blue" with our logo. How about a range of colours?

Cheers for the above T W-P - much appreciated.

Yes, re: rugby shirts, I was thinking navy with a white colour and logo, but I guess other colours would be good too.

Re: custom back prints, one thought I had was to back print "Free Spirits Mega Meter Monster" (or similar - not feeling that creative right now - must be the Tommy Cooper jokes - see Sanctuary) and then have custom embroidery on the front like "2006 - 2,500,000m" or similar.

Also was thinking about having "Free Spirits Race Team" ones...

Just idle thoughts for now. Anyone else got any?

American kit

Post by Thomas W-P »

I was thinking about this exchange rate problem for our American friends.

There MUST be loads of companies in the US who can make custom kit. How about the one that Concept 2 have started using (http://www.zazzle.com/)?
