Updated table linked in the above.

Good showing of 31 entrants. Claudius has jumped into the top 4, with the top 3 unchanged.

No anniversaries, but I believe we have a new entrant: welcome to JPC =D>

Updated table following the June results is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Main changes at the top are Guy and Felton changing placings for 2nd and 3rd, with Morten entering the top 10 at the expense of Barbara. Tako has a respectable lead at the halfway point of the year.

Congratulations to Guy for completing 25 CTCs =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> and also welcome to James Hayter on his first CTC - and taking a place in Boat 1 ^O^ ^O^ ^O^

I have updated the table. Added July and August.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

The 'previous' column shows the standings of June, which was more simple then showing those results for August as compared to July.
Tako is still in the lead, but Guy is getting very close.

An early update this month. Only 24 participants.
Guy has taken the lead. Unfortunately no entry from Marta this month which made her drop from the 9th to the 15th position.
One new entry: Louise, welcome.
Have fun with the sprint stuff in October.

Hi Fred, thanks for the update!

RGelissen and Rodger are both me. The first one is my lightweight username, the second one my hwt one.

Hi, yes, I thought so but I saw a number of entries aa Rodger (8) and 75 as your lighter self.
But I’ll put them together in the RGelissen line. Now just don’t make things more complicated by entering both a lightweight and heavyweight score in the same month. Theoretically possible.

Fred, thank you for the update.

As for different user names, the same applies to me. Peter Weiß and Peter Weiß lwt are both me (as you might have guessed). You can combine the scores under "Peter Weiß" as there's no danger I will go leightweight again in the near future
Athletes row, others just play games

Haha, I’ll do my best Peter. The sheet is a bit confused at the moment, but I hope to have time to repair it today. The ranking is a bit out of order at the 36th position due to a hidden column I believe. Have to dive into that.

I was surprised by this.
Looking back, this is the lowest number for any of the monthly challenges since August 2013. Back then it was a very complicated challenge with mixed stroke rates. Understandable.
But it seems this wasn't just a Free Spirits issue, the participation was low across the board (lowest number of total entries since July 2016).
I have no idea why. This challenge wasn't particularly obnoxious, I thought.

27 participants in October, no new entries.
In the top 10 Steve and Morten changed places. With Barbara missing this one Ange entered the top 10, with only 9 participations so far very well done.

Good luck in November everybody. Only eight entry's there so far but no doubt the number will grow.

According to the sheet November was Philip's 100th CTC. According to a previous post from Roger he's already a bit further. I trust Roger in this, but, should he be wrong, congratulations Philip.
A new entry this year, the 101th entry for Michelle. Welcome back...
Nothing much has changed. Ange and Peter switched places. Claudius is getting very close to the second spot. Maybe an inspiration for Tako to give everything he has got for the december CTC. Though I don't think that's really necessary, I think that's common practice for him.
Good luck everyone.

Congratulations Guy, number one position in 2019. In the top 10 Morten and Felton and Ange and David traded places.
Three new 2019 entries in December, that makes overall 56 participants throughout the year. Hopefully you'll all be back.
Happy rowing in 2020.

Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Post by Tako »

Thank you for the updated stats Fred!
I am very happy to see that I managed to defend my second spot there, although I know it is only borrowed for 2019, as there are stronger and faster guys in the seats behind. Especially Morten, Jonathan and James are faster than me, but after all it is also about consistency :-)
Hence a big applause to all that managed 12 or 13 entries in 2019! Finding the time and avoiding injuries.

Looking forward to another year of great competition! The C2CTC is a great motivation for many. Just realised that the strongest woman in the Dec challenge is actually the ruling world champion and she managed to score high up the list. Really impressive and great to see the great mix of athletes. So hopefully more will join this year!

Every score counts as it also helps to float additional boats, so keep them coming!!!

Good luck to all for 2020! Game on!

Yes thanks Fred (what happened to Ian, hope he's ok?).
Tako I agree with Claudius, you very much earned your place.
Hopefully we'll all continue to be healthy and have a go each month. Maybe provide a bit of friendly competition no matter which seat is being fought for, but most importantly just fill a seat.

2020 has begun on the board as well. 27 entries, and a warm welcome to Paul Grinham who has entered his first CTC score in January.
Don't forget next week's Valentine challenge and lots of fun with this month's 12 x 60 seconds :fswink: .

I've added the Carole McNally Memorial points to the sheet. Three of the leaders rowed this as well and were in a scoring boat so they've created sort of a gap. Ange LC and James Hayter skipped it and consequently are no longer in the top ten, but no doubt they will reenter soon enough when they join this month's challenge.
