As a heads-up, I'm most likely not going to continue the leaderboard into 2018. I feel that after five years, it has run its course.
I would still do the all-time numbers (jubilees etc.), but not necessarily on the 1st of every month.
I hope everyone is okay with that.

Hi Rodger, its your time and effort, so totally up to you. I'd just like to thank you for doing it in the first place.
Maybe there's a willing volunteer in the wings somewhere :-)
Thank you very much indeed for such a great job.

I'm still a newbie on the ctc-competition, but I find it challenging and I liked seeing the monthly scores. Thanks for that Rodger.
I volunteer to start doing the scores in 2018, maybe you can hand it over to me Rodger?

I'll add both thanks (a highly motivational thing, that leaderboard...) and willingness to help with spreadsheet updates.

If you both send me your email address by PM, I will give you writing rights on the google sheet. You can then discuss who will be doing what. :)

Great to see some volunteers. I was going to suggest we do this on an annual rota so that we can share it around. Looks like we have at least the first couple of years covered. =D> :D

Thanks for all of your effort on this Rodger. I have found it really motivating like many others.

December update:
This is the shortest monthly update ever, as there were no debuts in December and no returnees after a long absence. Also, I noted no CTC jubilees.

After a second place in 2015, Dan Fennell is now 2017's leaderboard winner. And only the second winner since this little competition began in 2013. ^O^
The winner of years 2013-2016, Liefcat, takes second place this year, while Barbara also occupies a podium spot (for the fourth year in a row)! =D> =D>

Free Spirits who rowed all CTCs in 2017 are: danfennell, Liefcat, Barbara H, David Plumb, Felton Humble, Tako Lootsma and Peter Weiß! =D>
If we ignore the April's Fool CTC, Claudius, alan wisniewski, Steve Smith, e-Clair and Peter Tullett also managed to row all challenges. =D>

(Former) members who rowed CTCs for us in 2014, 2015 and 2016, but not in 2017 are: Hewitt, thornmaster, John Steventon, PeggyH, Rob C and StJohn Ford.

The full leaderboard is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1935085100

Fred and Ian have expressed their willingness to take over leaderboard duties from me (thanks!), so expect this to continue into 2018!

Well, my debut in keeping the CTC scores for the Free Spirit participants. Thanks to Rodger again offcourse for doing this the last years.
If someone finds any discrepancies, please let me know.
There's a small caveat in the number of participating boats, which is over 100 this month (as it was in several months last year). As long as there's no FS boat in these regions there's no problem with the score. Since part of the score is 101 minus the boat you're in, when over 101 you would wind up with a lower score than someone who didn't make it from the shore. When that situation might arise we can think of a solution, for now I kept everything the same.

Fred,

Many, many thanks for taking over. =D> ^O^

Sorry to say, I suspect you have some errors in the spreadsheet however. Plummy at the top of the board? Surely, some mistake!

I would say that is empirically impossible...

well done Fred, and thanks =D>

35 members taking part, I know we are Free Spirits, but there's definitely a part of me that would like more participation  .

I see the 2018 leaderboard is in capable hands.

Just wanted to add that two of the 35 were debuts: MaxMacLaren1 and Kenneth Reardon.
Liefcat and Peter Tullett rowed their 125th CTC for us. ^O^
Olivia Smith returned after almost 5 years (previous last CTC in March 2013).

I will occasionally post a Club 50 table, probably when the first Free Spirit reaches 150 (not long to go).

I've added yesterday's results of the Carole McNally Memorial to the board. We now have a sole leader, unfortunally Dave had to give up his number 1 spot, Morten has taken over.

Just read Barbara's post in the Carole McNally thread and I thought I should at least honour her with participation points. Let's see whether she'll be added to the official board, then I'll adjust the board again. Any objections?

Fred thank you. It meant a lot to me that I bettered my last year score on this one day challenge by 0.1. I wasn't expecting to be even close. It's been a rough couple months. Seeing that I'm in the top spot (for now) is odd. But it tells me I should keep on, and keep life in perspective. If you weren't maintaining the leaderboard, I'd not have gotten that lovely, positive message today. Thank you... again!
