3861m completed with thoughts of Gaye and best wishes for the family on this day
53, 6'2" and trying to get back to 95kg post hip replacement. Looking back fondly on past achievements I've no chance of repeating

Here we are celebrating life with Gaye.
Pictured below are Commodoreann, Gaye, Peter_S and KiwiCan in the McOnie's home.
We sure knew what to do with a rower.
We both finished our 3861.
Here is to you Gaye!
You will always be with us!

I did a 3861m for Gaye on Friday (as I don't have access to the gym on Saturday) as part of a slow (aggregated) HM, and dedicate the whole session to her.
Love the photo of you all together sitting on the rowing machine. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you Free Spirits who celebrated Gaye's life in such a meaningful way. It was both a sad row and a thoughtful day knowing that people from around the world were remembering my dear wife and our rowing colleague. I would also like to thank the 240+ people who rowed the CTC.
Most of you had never met Gaye, but we all came together to do what we all like, rowing.
I hope to meet more of the team in my travels and to thank you in person.

Dave, it was great to be able to take part in yesterday's tribute to Gaye and it was also great to meet you in last year's Madchester. It would be super to meet you again and if you ever make it over to Ireland, please let me know you're coming and you would be a very welcome guest in chez Victory.

I've logged my 3861 meters at 8 AM (Italian time), but for some reason they're under Oct 18. I've tried to delete the log entry and re-input it, but it's not worked
Is there anything I can do to ?

You can go in and edit the entry to show the correct date. If you click on the icon in the second last column, it will allow you to edit distance, time, date rowed, comments, etc. Then you just click the update button at the bottom of the page.

Re: October 2013 - celebrating the life of Gaye McOnie
Mclarizia, metres that are uploaded to the logbook before 9 a.m. (for us on the West/Central European mainland, that is) show up in the meterboard on the previous date. I think this is because the metreboard doesn't account for time zones and was made in the USA.
But even if what Paul has suggested doesn't work, I'm sure your effort to row/upload the 3861 on the day is much appreciated anyway (if I may be so impertinent).

Re: October 2013 - celebrating the life of Gaye McOnie
#61 checking in -- did my 3,861m on Sat, October 19 at 9:30 pm after flying from Texas to home (California). Time zone changes and the Texas diet of meat, more meat, fried things, banana pudding, etc. along with sleeping contorted into an airplane seat, had me thinking the erg was not on my short list before bed. However a few minutes in, I started to stretch out & feel much better. By the end of the row I had recovered my energy and in fact felt much better than if I hadn't done the row. I hope in some way this small contribution is a testament to Gaye as an inspirational person and member of a caring virtual team. Nice to see the contribution from so many on the meterboard and CTC.

Paul and Rodger, thanks for your replies but your tips did not work. I've tried both editing and deleting my log entry, but to no avail.
Anyway, I rowed my 3861 last Saturday, and that's what really matters in the end.

Re: October 2013 - celebrating the life of Gaye McOnie
My thanks to everybody who had a go at this challenge which I think was very much worth it.
The measure of a person's life can be done in many ways and I'm sure that philosophers have many fine words and phrases that encapsulate them.
For me however, I recall that Gaye was very active in the early days of the club and although my direct interaction with her was limited, her posts and thoughts were always entertaining and well crafted but most of all they were constantly outward looking. They were about helping others see beyond themselves and were not, as many of us are guilty of, about her and her achievements. She was about seeing the good in others.
That is a rare gift and one that we should rightly celebrate.

Re: October 2013 - celebrating the life of Gaye McOnie
It was great to take part in the row Saturday 19th as a tribute to Gaye. I had the privilege to meet Gaye in Boston and to meet Dave again in Madchester last year. Really nice picture there Anne. Fabulous to see you all four there, four good friends. I got Cathrine with me on the row, and Olaf as well. It was his debut on the CTC, and he met Gaye in Boston as well.
Super to see so many Free Spirits taking part in this months row!
So all the best Dave from all of us!

I'd like to echo Odd. Like him I met Gaye at 2010 Crash-B's when she coxed me to my 2k PB. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dave at last year's Madchester advent. You both were on my mind during my three attempts at this very special CTC!

I love that photo as that is exactly how you all were in Boston when we met.
