The lifetime metre thread

Post by Stan »

Today I was really pleased to note that I have now completed 4 million metres since discovering the C2 website back in February last year. :D
Still not received my 3 million metre medal from C2

Good going Stan!
I am just short of 3 million metres since end of October last year when I started recording my metres online.
When I was in the UK I kept a record on a log sheet which got mislaid when I moved back to SA but I had something like 2.4 million recorded.
Checked the lifetime metres on my C2 and it is just over 5 million.

just cranked over the 7 million metre mark, and keep forgetting to ask for my goodies from the C2 site, altuough I did get the tee shirt a couple years back!!

Don't need the prizes though, just doing it is reward enough!!

Stan,

Hmmm...C2 send me mine within a week.
I think you need to phone them - they are usually pretty good.

Well done on your 4M.

I've I've worked it out right, I should achieve mine the day we do the marathon!

Well done Paul & Bartman.

Jainser - you should catch me in a couple of weeks!

8 million!

Feels quite strange - went through 7 million in July on the day I finished the 7 x 50k in 7 days. And here I am at 8 million in mid October. Guess this means I should be expecting 9 million around end of Jan. I blame those Free Spirits people, and that damn meter board... :D

Good stuff Mike.

When we have our whisky evening we should buy drinks in proportion to our lifetime metres. :P

I could well be drunk before it's my turn! :D

"I can row for miles and miles and miles"

Post by jainser »

Well done Mike, I just past 4 million and I was pleased with that but 8 million. That's just shy of 5,000 miles!!!!!

http://www.whitakersalmanack.com/pdfs/0 ... nceair.pdf

Hope this links works as it shows distances from London (Heathrow) to others cities around the world.

Maybe we could incorporate something like this on the web site to show people just how many MILES they have rowed? What do you think??

Well I have been rowing since 1991, although not much on the ergo til 1997, and then steadily increasing since (apart from a down patch 2001 to 2003 when I got my own machine).

Like the distance chart - gives some visualisation of the 'concept' of just how far people have actually gone. I was trying for something similar with the distance challenges on FS Extreme, except I wanted to also make them water distances that you could (theoretically) actually row...
