Slight improvement to my 2k time (down from 7:09.8 to 6:58.2) improved the score from 814 to 840. Still my worst score overall, so no change to my total score :( Oh well, better improve it some more.

Nudged my Nonathlon score up a bit further with the SPB for 1k tonight. (Should be able to improve it by a way further if not being done as part of a Rugby Test intervals workout!)

Oh, and Thomas, I'm the highest ranked 35 year old at the moment. But I'd better keep an eye on Gooner Neil and Gregor..

There's a qreat battle between DerryLad, Paul Victory and John Glynn hotting up on the Nonathlon.

JG's great new 2k PB has brought him within striking distance of Paul, and Rob is only a few points further up.

How will it end? Stay tuned...

My 5000m today put me ahead of the slug :D But I know he has been away from the erg for a while, so a slightly hollow victory.

I think I have a good few softish times in there, espiecially in the middle distance area, so room for improvement

I think Paul is still recovering from injury

Rob has't rowed the Marathon which will probably net him close to 200 points when he does, 100 bonus points (for all distances bonus), and getting about 950 points in the Marathon will give him a close to 100 pt boost over his current 866 500m .

By the way I think the Nonathlon is much harder on the 2K then the other distances. I reckon the reason for this is because people are and were more serious about there 2K times so the base level is higher

Alistair, new 5k PB today.

Now 11 points ahead of you. :P

Will try for a 10k tomorrow but shooting all day Wednesday so nothing then.

Are you going to take this lying down?

There is a nice "battle of the 37s" starting up too between Rita and me. 33 points in it with the static slug sandwiched inbetween.

And I agree on the odd 2k weighting! For my points to get that high I would need to be pulling a 6:40 which seems crazy.

Erm, guys, be careful not to OVERTRAIN.

John/Thomas, you're right that the NonAthlon is tougher on the 2k than anything else, and also pretty hard on the 500m and 1000m. This is because it is done by normalising against data for times done by a large number of people, and a lot more (decent) times get recorded for the shorter and race distances. I _think_ it uses the data from the previous years C2 Ranking Data, split by Age and Weight, which would certainly give this kind of distribution.

Oh, and I got another 34 points just now :D

Just realised, as a consequence of knowing more Nonathlon IDs, that I now know who Ergonaut is.

Ergonaut - the CURRENT NONATHLON LEADER - is none other than our very own Roger Bangay.

HUGE HUGE Cheer for Roger for this outstanding achievement (and apologies for not having noticed this earlier)

I figure I'll be ok on the Nonathalon until Mike comes up with another handicapping spread sheet which will no doubt stitch me up again

Added 100 bounus points today just by completing a marathon. Unfortunately, by FM score was lower than any of my other scores, but at least I moved up 3 places.

Next step is to identify a 'soft' time that I can improve.
