Yes - turns out to be a minor technical glitch; restarting the web server fixed the problem. I'll sit down and figure out how to make things automatically recover if this happens again.

Thanks for letting me know!

Jonathan, Thomas,

Any chance of geting the Top 25 Team Meters Board released onto the site? Do you feel it's stable enough? Looks cool to me.

(That's if you are still speaking to me after the Lotto challenge!)

Negative mtres

Post by webberg »

Jonathan, I'm presently either chasing or trying to get away from Wes Williams at the moment and see that he has a negative total for one day.

I didn't know this was possible on C2.

Is this an error?

Paul: The page now shows the top 50 teams, just so I can make sure that University of Wisconsin stays on the page. :-) I still think it needs improvement, but no reason we can't make it public - I'll talk to Thomas about adding a link. As for the Lotto challenge -- ehh. I never have any luck. There was a $209M winning lottery ticket sold in Wisconsin, but do I win? Noooo....
(Mind you, my habit of never buying lottery tickets may have had something to do with it. )

Graham: Wes must have edited his meters the next day. (E.g.: removed 4K, perhaps it was a typo). So his total meters went down -- hence the negative display. I've corrected this by hand, and will see about fixing the code. In the long run, it is self-correcting, as a later 4K row would show as 0.

Unfortunate

Jonathan - thanks. You could always get the ENTIRE Uni of Wisconsin to join us?!

And I sympathise - Derrylad's choices just make it worse - the challenge was designed to randomise it so he didn't win everything. Hasn't worked out that way! Must think of something more devious!

Just add 2000m to anything he has to row. He will still win but it might be a little more competitive.

I'm not that quick.... Haven' done any challenges for quite some time ( looked at the scores and it shows ). Will have a crack at the ones I have not done in the next couple of weeks ( heh! heh!)

Rob

PS. If you want to swap the lottery draw I don't mind ( 9 * 1k with 1 min rest in between + 200m, any takers ? )
