I'll take a couple Dave, especially if one of the Navy Blue's in your description is actually Royal Blue to match my "wonderful" football team.

Hi Plummy,
I'd be up for taking a couple - not too fussed about the colour as long as they are different.
Do you deliver to Italy?

Is that a typo or do you just really like Navy blue ones and ordered loads of them?

Re: FS Sweat protection option
I just ordered a mix of colours. The blue ones were quite popular last time so I ordered more of them.
PM me your address and I'll get a price for posting them out to you. I still haven't got my card statement (due any day) so I can work out exactly how much each they should be.
Thanks for taking a couple though - I'm already using my new black one, makes me feel a bit "gangsta".

Cheers Plummy, Ms P has informed me that the gangsta do-rags have arrived in Milan.
I believe she's already picked her one, I'll have to see what I get left with when I return home

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Just a note to advise that I still have three spare of the above headbands - 1 x Navy and 2 x Royal Blue so if anyone thinks they missed out this time around or wants to top up their stock just send me a pm and we can sort something out. They ended up working out at £8.25 each by the way (plus whatever shipping costs unless we can arrange to meet at an event/race etc)

Thanks for your efforts Dave!
I am really enjoying my new bands.
Just wondering how to wash/clean/treat them.
Any advice?

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Has anyone using these had any issues with the latest batch they took? Mine appear to be falling apart very quickly i.e. the sweat strip is just separating/coming unglued on all of them. Never happened on the previous batches that I recall...

Re: FS Sweat protection option
The yellow strip is fine with mine but I do not use them that often. Only few hard pieces lately
But the stitches at the end start unravelling.

Hi Dave, yep my yellow strip is starting to come off ...
None of my other 3 old ones have done this (they cracked, but stayed in situ)

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Hmmm - I posed the question to Halo and got the following reply:
The original yellow seal, way back when, was great but very time consuming to apply. It held up well but it had some cracking issues and we could not keep up with headband production.
About 4 years ago we switched to a yellow seal that is made of 100% silicone and is applied using a heat transfer press. It was faster to make headbands,
but over time the glue would separate from the yellow seal. Mostly due to customers putting the headband in a dryer or it just wore out. This seal, I think, is what you had on your last order.
About 1 year ago, we switched to our current yellow seal. It is from a new supplier that supplies a lot of major brand name apparel manufacturers and we have been happy so far with the quality.
Looks like they didn't supply product second time around that was as good as the first batch...

Re: FS Sweat protection option
But they didn't offer to replace?
I guess we just 'glue' it back on then and keep them out of the tumble dryer.
Thanks for checking with them.

Thanks for the research Dave. I don‘t have such problems with mine, but I only handwash them and never put them in the tumble dryer.

Re: FS Sweat protection option
My sweatbands are a shadow of what they used to be and despite several "re-glueings", the yellow strip continues to fall off with ever more regularity.
That said, Mrs P has a vast collection of sewing paraphenalia so I asked it the strip could be stitched on - and here is the first test sample.
It might compromise the barrier and cause a bit of sweat "wicking" but better than that is all ends up in your eyes

Re: FS Sweat protection option
More time than ever on hand allowed for long needed clean out of “The Mancave”. That’s one good thing that came out of SARS-CoV-2. What the Mrs. discovered was a treasure trove of the original Halo head bands from 2009. It’s the style where the sticky yellow part does not fall apart after a couple of washes. There are some Navy, Pink, and Purple bands. I’d be happy to distribute them to whoever likes one. Last time Lee took the GB shipments and sent them on from there. Let’s see if there is interest and then figure out specifics!

PURPLE ! Why was this never mentioned originally? I demand to know!
As I already have 8 of one form or another (not purple though) I may have to decline.
Happy to help with distribution if there is enough interest on the Eastern side of the Atlantic though.
Thanks for the offer Boris.
(these are really, really good for those that are wondering)

Re: FS Sweat protection option
I do still have one unused (saved for the mythic day that I erg in public again!), so will allow others to have first choice, but if there are any non-pink ones left, happy to buy another one or even 2, as the ones I use have perished rubber, still work, but leave an indentation for several hours afterwards.
Best wishes

Re: FS Sweat protection option
Definitely interested. Preferably blue or purple and I'll take 3 for sure. How many do you have???
This last batch were rubbish and I've had to have the sweat deflector strip sewn into place which allows a tiny bit of sweat to wick through (it's not to bad though although the stitching tends to pull them "out of flat" so they twist up a lot making them difficult to put on.

Will wait a little longer to give more FS a chance to think about it and will then send them across the Atlantic!

Boris - I would like 3 pink bands if you have that many to spare and allowing of course for Dogma Dave's order. Thank you.
