She suggested it!

But I don't think I will take it actually. My back is pretty sore at the moment so sluggy gets a chance to pull away. Plus I am on my programme for BIRC and now don't get much choice how many metres I do.

Thomas you have to!

Awww go on. 8)

You would never forgive yourself if we ended up 30k short of the moon... :P

Now that was unfair wasn't it

More to the point, I always like to see a good bit of SLUG baiting.

Back from hols in Croatia but I don't think I'm ready to look at the metre board just yet - will wait until I row tomorrow first.

Would it be useful (or possible) if the board also had data on lifeltime metres?

Couple of weeks back I was in a bunch of three Neils down the bottom. Seems like Mr hipkins has upped his game. Fresh from my holiday I'll be back on his tail soon and hopefully I can push Mr Morton up with me...

Watch out the Neils are coming

Damn it Peter - cant you just let me overtake you. Clocked up 30k this morning thinking that would put daylight between us. It did... you are still in front

Watch out the Neils are coming

As a confirmed Neil I would just like to distance myself from the Neil revolution.

1. As a Neil I am well aware of my limitations and inability to make anyone be fretfull/concerned/alarmed of me coming, arriving although I am aware that they are quite happy when I leave.

2. If the Neil's are coming, I'll see how they get on and if this does lead to a takeover then I'll slip in the back door and profess to always being a Neil!!

Mail your colours to the mast and join the revolution....none of this namby pamby back door rubbish  Being a fellow Gooner I've learnt to take the rough with the smooth especially given our start to this season! Neil ribbing is good for our character isn't it?

Anyway, there are worse things that can happen, I loose my claim to be in my 30's in a weeks time  But the old adage goes, your only as young as the woman....which is not a whole lot of use as it's her turn in December!

Up the Neils and up the Gunners :P

Mitchy.

As a Gooner and a Neil you are obviously a man of sound mind and immense intellect. Like all true sages your value will not be recognised until you die, but that is the fate of truly great philosophers.

Yes I to have suffered for being a Gooner but feel that it is difficult to join the revolution as my militray skills are somewhat lacking. Maybe I could be head of entertainment, or flower arranging if the revolution is to be peaceful and in line with FreeSpirits ideology. If bloody and vengeful then I will have to abstain and tut from the sideline saying things like 'this will end in tears.'

Anyway the only thing I have learnt from Spurs fans is to nail your shirt to the team that is winning, but make sure the pins are eaily removable just in case there is a late change to proceedings.

Up the revolution, Up the Gunners

Right. *looks over shoulder*

There's a Neil 35k behind.
There's a Neil 6.5k ahead.

I feel an ergo coming on.......

alistairkbs - you have over taken me. And I am on a "low" week in my 2000m programme.

Ah well. Next week it will all change. I'll be doing 10km warm ups or something.

And sadly there are no Neils near me :(

Hmmm
Maybe I should have kept quiet about trying to overtake Mr Jain - impressive response there - I am still going to try and catch you though :D

I'm right up for it this month. My best month was set way back in 2001 when I clocked up just over 472k, I know it's not in the big league but I was very pleased with it. Now this is a personal challenge that has been hanging over me since I brought my C2 in March. I really want to clock over 500k in a month.
Then when I saw Mr. Sims ELM challenge and combined with my newly purchased HR monitor I thought to myself - 'Pete my man this is the month'!
So as per usual I've gone screaming out the blocks. Target is 16-17k per day - but there is another challenge so I've gone out to beat that as well. I have a spreadsheet I fill in everyday (I'm such a nerd sometimes - I even embarrass the kids!) which amongest other things tells how far ahead or behind I am. Then of course there's the other challenge of how many metres I can row in a day. Just set my best of 35k, so I'd like to challenge myself and beat that by the end of the month.
And of course the final challenge is how many times I can type the word challenge. This is of course the hardest challenge I have set myself out of all the challenges but it's a challenge I think I can challenge myself to and win. Sorry. :?

Rowed two completely different days with different sessions etc but ended with exactly the same totals........How weird is that.
 Welcome to my world

EDIT: Ignore this I just can't read they are within 18 metres. Think I need some sleep!

My two marathons were rowed 1 year apart. I rowed one non-stop, hit the wall with 1 hour to go.

The second I stopped regularly and did not watch the time at all.

The second one was 13 seconds faster! Not as close as yours but very weird too.

BTW - has someone put salt on the slug?

Where dat dere Slug den?!!!

He sent me an email last week, but has gone quiet - think he's under pressure at work! Slug under pressure...not a pretty picture.

Just noticed on the team standings board that we are gradually pulling away from the second placed team (Iron Oarsmen) and that we now have almost double their total of meters. Well done to all - keep it up and we'll get Thomas to the moon yet!

And we're gaining on the moon a little!

I like the way we gain and lose on the moon each day. It is just like racing against a crew.

Can we get jlemon to do us a chart of this? Could be amusing to watch! (Oh dear, I should get a life  )
