Indeed, so far this season it has been 450km on the erg and 734km on the water

New SB for my 1k (done for the Lightweights challenge) by a whole 0.1s !! :-) Gets me a whole Nonathlon point too. By default it's a 3 year SB as my previous SB was one already. Died totally in the last 50m and finished with arms only for the last 3~4 strokes so maybe there's another 0.5~1.0s in there if I can actually still have functioning legs through to the end.

3:31.0

Given my latest pace for the IRL's 6344 of 1:54.9 was a tenth faster than my current 5k SB (19:10.3/1:55.0) I decided to have a go at my 5k last night. Plan was to start around 1:55 for the first half and then get going in the second half. This is how it went:

A 1:55 pace felt too easy from the start so I went a bit quicker than planned in the first 2k. In the second 2k I was able to go a second quicker in pace and still have something left for a fast final 1k. Overall really happy with my new SB by exactly 16 seconds which earned me 11 shiny noanthlon points. I guess the 6k is next on the list

Afternoon, not sure I've ever posted here, but I'm rather chuffed with this one.
After several months of attempting to regain some fitness, and multiple attempts at this, today's score is 15012m for 1 hour.
Sadly that means I'll need to try 1:55 for 30 min, but I'll enjoy this for a while first.

Wow, total coincident Wolfie but I've also just done a 60 min row and managed 15045 (revenge for the last CTC ), my best since 2012! Starting to fool myself that I'll be competitive at BRIC 2019 in December :^o ; did my first 2k for 9 years a couple of days ago and hung on for 7:16.2 so I have some serious improvements to make

Well done fellas - great news. I'd love to be able to squeak over 15k again for 60 mins but I'm not even worrying 14.8k at the moment.

Well done Steve and Jonny for going sub 2:00 pace over the hour of power! =D> I doubt I could manage that at the moment?

I had another go at the 10k last night. After several unsuccessful attempts in the prior weeks I finally managed to get a small improvement on my SB (39:35.6 / 1:58.7):

Happy with an improvement by 8.2 seconds (and three nonathlon points), but looking at the splits now I should have started maybe a second quicker, so might have another go soon (would be really great to go sub 39 again...).

After my 100m and 1 min PBs this week I had a go at my 500m to try for an SB. It was 1:38.5...... but is now 1:37.0! - and not only a 1 year SB but my third fastest of all time. Actually got some Nonathlon points too - 14 of them. :-)

The last 150m were truly horrible! :~c :~c

Finally fully recovered from my cracked rib in November and have been feeling pretty strong recently. Set SBs in 500, 2000, 6000, 10000, 30', and Half Marathon since 2/17. Hoping to knock off a few of my 13 year old PBs this year (and maybe drop those last 3 lbs back to lightweight status).
Cheers,
Colin

Well I just missed a sub 7' 2K today by 2 stinking tenths of second, but I did lower my season's best by 6.3 seconds. The good news is that because I didn't vomit after, I know I can go faster ...

Cheers,
Colin

Gaah - I feel your pain. Soooo close. As you say, being that close means that you know it's there with a tiny bit of a deeper plunge into the hurt box. Nice 2k sir

There's so much to be pleased with about that though - sprint finish, heart rate average, spm etc.

7 minutes is there for the taking
