Good to see you back with the bit between your teeth Grahamwebberg wrote:A modest 10k SB of 42:39.3
I have also issued a challange to Alistair KBS and will race him to 40:30 for that distance.
After the struggle tonight I'm not entirel;y sure that was wise.
Challenge accepted but my 10K best from May (see sig) is now in the ranks of "how on earth did I ever do that?"
Can usually get under 42 mins but 40.30 is a long way off.
What better excuse to do more of my favourite distance on the erg.

Just did a 10,000m in 42:08.6 (2:06.4). Trying to get my fitness back with some 10k pieces. Don't feel like I could do much more at the moment.

Me too. I did 6k in 24.23.5 and set SBs for 500m, 1k, 2k and 5k along the way.
I think I'll quit now while I'm ahead.

Tried out for FM but couldn't finish it. Still building but: Anyway 2 hours of row in a decent pace (2:00/starting the first 10K in 1:53.2) resulting in seasons best on HM, 10K, 30 min and 6K. Quite happy with that after 3 days of semi marathons (=104K)

Blimey Strider,
Thats a hell of an improvement on your PB Maybe you should have had a 1K warm down at 2:05 pace to beat your 6K pb

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Thanks Bill
I was going to do the PP08 interval set-but felt strong.
So I decided to do the 5K without warm-up.
Held 1:50/1 for most of the way-very fast stroke-31 spm but I am quite fit aerobically.
Also went at a lower df than normal-usually go at 150-tried 135 this time.
I think that with rest I can go below 18:30, we are quite close at the moment.
Let's motivate each other to get in the same Boat-I don;t expect to stay in Boat 2 or even 3-4 would be nice

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Impressive times guys =D>
My 5k SB wasn't quite so impressive: 19:59.6 (1:60.0)
I work the splits out to be just under 2:00 but the C2 website displays it as 1:60.0.
Miles off PB territory but feeling a bit fitter than last week so going in the right direction.

Good going Gregor. It would be great to see you scrapping it out with Thomas again at some point this season The contest between you two was one of the highlights of our early days.

Got to agree with you there - the friendly banter definitely helped motivate both of us to row faster and more often.Stan wrote:Good going Gregor. Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Thanks for the translation strider, alias Alan.
Took 6 sec. off my HM today
I just realised that I row faster after checking split on HM on the C2log. It was 17 seconds faster.
I am just learning to use it. Sorry.

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Just a SB on the 500 meter, 1:29.4 which is a little slow for me But it pay off in point for Nonathlon =120
I had the drag on 135, and normally I use higher (190-195) for short runs, so maybe that is the case

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Damn. Thought I had a PB just not but it's an SB.
500m in 1:35.9 (35spm)
It beat my SB from last season but not my PB I did in May 2006 that is no longer on my logcard.

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Well nice one Gregor, you rowed faster than I did yesterday. Congrats. =D>
I don't know if anybody notised my failure on the erg yesterday. Therefore it seems rather suspecious to come the next day with such good results I got today!? But that's the way of the hay fever problem. One day your down and next day you have no fever at all?
Did SB on 6K, 30 min., 10K, 60 min. and HM. I got Totally surprised, when I came home and saw that I was only 3 seconds from my PB on 10K, and cut my HM, SB with 2 minutes only 11 seconds from PB!
I'd wish I could have rowed a little faster on the 10K.
