Thanks, all! Was aiming for something like a 2:08/500m pace and nearly took a bathroom break at 10k but kept feeling stronger as I went along.

Cheers,
Colin

The second time this season I can post a 10K PB here. And that after all those years of rowing... And it's not because it's a poor PB I think, it seems to be a distance which is quite suitable for me. I have the stamina to keep on going here. My season's results foor the 60 minutes and half marathon are a lot worse. Maybe they are just a bit too long for me.
Anywayz, pleased with this one...

Nice to get below 1:23 for the HM today. All I can say is... it was hard!

Congratulations on your HM PB Max! =D> That end heart rate looks rather high (like it should do at the end of a hard HM :D ), is that near your max heart rate?

It's a cracking season you're having with a whole set of PBs, except for the 1k. Are you going for the 1k PB in April (might fit well with the ctc)?

Thanks. The step test a few weeks ago showed HR max of 172 but during the IRL 10k it peaked at 176 . The half marathon max was 170 so I wonder if it means I could go a little faster .

Yes, a 1k PB would be nice, plus one for the CTC 500m because I need the Nonathlon points [-o<.

Well done, Max. I am sure you finished with a sprint, as is your style!

After a day off I managed to pull out a PB in the 5K at 18:11.2, an improvement of 2.3 seconds (and over 40 seconds better than my previous best this year). I felt like HDing 1.5K in, and oddly I find that this is often when I manage to set a new high. Perhaps it helps with pacing, as when I feel particularly strong I am prone to fly and die behavior.

Cheers,
Colin

Thank you all. I can't claim there was much of a sprint finish but I did pick up the pace slightly with 10 mins to go to when I realised sub 23 was possible. Plus the last 50 stroke countdown and it did feel good to see a 1:45 at the end..

Colin, Well done, that's a very nice 5k =D> =D> =D>.

I managed to set a new PB in the half marathon today at 1:21:52.8, a 25 second improvement. Along the way I managed season's best splits in the 10K and 60 minutes lengths. Trying to set all new PB times by the end of the month. I know that's crazy but it keeps me going.

Cheers,
Colin

Sprints are not my strength, but I had a crack at the 1k yesterday and today and scratched out a PB by .1 seconds. Wooh hoo!

Cheers,
Colin

Congratulations Colin =D> =D> =D>. That's my least favourite distance and you've reminded me I need to have a go before the end of the season.

Thanks Max. I might like 500m even less, but at least it's over faster. Both stink. Went back to long distance today and knocked a 60' PB off the list too!

Cheers,
Colin
