Thanks Paul & Max

Yes, the bug is huge and strong!
Some people in my surroundings tell me that it has affected my brain as much as my stamina&strength, not always sure they mean that positive ;-)

Well done Lily. The last knockings of a 60 minutes are always a painfest when a PB is being grabbed. I don't know how much it was a PB by - hopefully quite a few metres?

Makes even more sense that it hurt. 406m is pretty immense! ^O^

Felt good today so thought I would try a 5k which I've not done for a while. Pleased to say it went much better than expected with a time of 17:57.5 @1.47.7. First 5k sub 18 mins and an improvement of over 10s. A very nice way to start the new season  .

Very nice 5k there Max! Sub 18 for a 5k is a great achievement, I was never able to do it.

I fear there may be a new leader on the Nonathlon this year if Max keeps this up!

Thanks guys. As I've never done a half marathon let alone a full one I don't think I will be troubling the top of the Nonathlon leaderboard any time soon! But Plummy's comment has got me thinking I should try a 6k soon...

I've definitely seemed to have hit a purple patch - smashed my 10k today - 43:38 (and my 30 min in the process 6767). Can I take another 39 seconds off......the way things are going........... :)

I won't be competing with Max and Lily, but since it was appalling warm and I couldn't sleep early this morning, I thought I'd start the season off with a FM......

3:04:44.3 , which turns out is over a minute under my pb.

Wow, congratulation Ian - I stopped at the 10k because it was getting too warm too (stopped just after 9am), Not complaining though, finally we get a sunny bank holiday YAY!

Your 10km time was immense, so I hope you've relaxed today Image

I did a 4 minute test yesterday, I beat my first one by 109 meters. 841 to 950.

Due to the Marathon challenge I thought I also do a FM after doing the HM last week.
Inspired by all the great results posted by fellow FS, I felt that I should aim for a PB. Hence I programmed RowPro pace boats with my previous 3 FM. I only improved by seconds, but my fourth FM is now my fastest with 3:20:40.0
And it really hurt!!!
Happy to have done it and to get my 3rd icon on the Meterboard for the season :-) which also is a PB that early in the season ;-)

Well done Tako, an impressive row! I wondered what you'd been focusing on. Is it a case of building the meters during the Mud Season Madness in March and being ready to try half and full marathons in April / May? Just a thought for next year.

Thank you! That sounds like a good plan for the end of this season, but I have to admit that I did not plan for it this time, it just happened :-) Simply trying to collect badges/certificates/achievements. Never thought of it that the C2 challenges built nicely up to each other like you point it out.

One main motivation for the FM was of course also the Meterboard as I travelled quite a bit at the start of the month and wanted to get back up where I ended last season :-)

Decided to do a 10 k today...to dip under 38min was a way too long on my to do list.

Bit of an unexpected PB this morning. Set out to do a gentle 10km before my gym class, and evolved it into a negative split session since it felt good. I was briefly cheesed off when the monitor rounded my time up (could swear it showed 40.59.9....).

On the other hand my 10k time was ripe for challenge, so hopefully I can't get a little bit closer to 40 minutes over the next year.

Bit of a pattern emerging. Hold the honest belief that I'm not trying, relax, and improve.

Today, a modest improvement on 30 minutes. The heart rate trace suggests it was harder than it felt, but I can almost touch 7.5km.

Almost.

Interesting heart rate display. What app or utility are you using?

Thanks Paul.

The graphs is generated by the Polar Flow app (from the linked polar activity band). I'd venture it over estimates the heart rate relative to a fitbit, but it works for me.
