managed a pb today in between those stressfull covid19 days...maybe some of my last max. effort results...need to stay fit...more low intensity session in the future...i decided a full go for the 10k my former "lieblings" distance for a tough row...and managed to go 2.2s down of my pb of june 2018 ctc 10k: now it is 36:52.3, so very happy with a lwt/hwt overall pb !

Congratulations with the very strong and impressive PB!ImageImageImage

Hope you manage to stay fit, the world needs everyone working in the health system and more....

So you confirm what Dave heard and wrote in another post that it is better to stay away from high intensity training in these COVID-19 days?

thank you all for the kind words, and yes it will be one of my last hard efforts for the next weeks, because of covid19. There is no official directive but a redommendation to avoid excessive sports in the upper zone to minimize negative affections to the immuns system. It was my late shift on icu on Thursday as i remebered a article of a italian physician who told us...first was silence...then they flooded the hospiral with dyspnoe and atypical bilateral pneumonia...keep healthy...social distancing...!

Hello, I'm adding this message to a few of the most popular threads in the hope that as many people see it as possible. Concept2 have launched a new spring challenge, the Spring Vlll Series. It's easy to get involved if you want to. Just row 6k by 12th April and log your time in your Concept2 logbook. Our Captain Stan will then select our boats. Details are below and you can follow progress on the Spring Vlll thread. If you're reading this hopefully you'll want to join in. It would ge great to have both experienced and newer rowers involved.

An unlooked for improvement, nice way to PB. If I had realised I was close, I would have made it better but planned session was capped at 24sr and 80% HR. Added another 200m to my 60 min.

I'm mostly liking the ergzone app :D , not sure about the death defying online comp though. Great if you do any sessions based on HR. I dont use it for everything though.

As the last piece in the online Row battles comp, a 2k. Points for fastest overall and fastest 3rd 500. I dismissed the 3rd 500 time and just wanted to finally see a sub 8min 2k. Achieved, absolutely stoked with this result. A massive 21.5s improvement. My first sub 8. Onwards to who knows where since this has taken a year from original injury recovery and beginner pete plan then set programming and working with a strength and conditioning man. All up maybe 9 months of solid grind. I am super happy.

fantastic 2k Lesley, Amazing improvement and deserves that record! But you do know that setting one record means you have to try the others don't you?

I believe Lesley stated on FB that the record was very recently taken down to 7:47.x - so not quite a record - but do-able in the near future I think.

Thank you everyone. Your support is much appreciated.

Plummy is correct, someone went faster just the day before but since neither were in public, or in a race I am not sure concept2AU will recognise them anyway. They only hold Australian records for 4 events and it seems there are rules for getting them recognised. But we know it is well and truly achievable. Just need to get a bit faster to be the one that takes home the certificate :). Iain, I had to readjust my goals for this season on the back of that effort and there may be some future attempts at other pieces once we can get back to playing nicely with others.

I didn't think I would ever again post a new PB in this thread, but yesterday it happened :D I went for a FM and was able to beat my old PB (which dates from June 2011) by 2 mins. 27 sec :D
