I managed to log a new PB of 7606m today for the 30mins unrestricted. :D
Nice considering my previous PB was 7515m.

Has anyone else broken their PBs recently?

Hi there,

I did 30 mins challenge today and did 8162m which I was pleased with as its a PB for me but feel I could have gone a little further, It was just so hot!! I also did 2000m last week and did 6.53 which is another PB for me. I was over the moon but I often ask why we do it coz its so painful...but obviously addictive.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Gregor. Welcome back from your fruitless trip to Germany and many congratulations on the new pb - I am sure seeing me in front of you was like a red rag to a bull and I therefore claim full credit for your great performance  .
Yep I got a pb for the 30 mins yesterday (7409). I think I can go further but I am now committed to the one for Mr Sims on ELM for the next few days.

I knew I wouldn't be ahead for long (stamps foot). Well done. I think I will have to go some to match that, but if I do I will get a new PB of my own. Maybe when it cools down.

I broke my HM PB whilst watching England lose to Portugal - but since my previous ones were done at marathon pace as a warm up for the full one, it was not too hard!

PBs - what are they! Too hot at the moment to even consider! Tonight after I'd done just over an hour I went outside for some air...my other half got my with the hose! Oops we're on a ban!!!!
It's now 22:20 - clock out!

Too damned hot !!!

Gregor

It's too hot for PB's - we need a good thunderstorm like Manchester had to clear the air, then I feel in form to chase 8000 for the first time.

I got a 5K and a 5*1K PB last week. I think that long distance PB's are highly unlikly in this heat, but I'm going for my 2K PB tomorrow.

(edit)
It's now tomorrow, my legs were a little weak before I got to the gym, but I decided to ignore that.
The last full pace 2K I did was at the IIRC last December . I had forgot how painful they are.
I ended up with a weak time for me . My legs got extremely tired and I started to lose a lot of power in the second 1K. I averaged 1:38.7, my training times indicate I should be averaging 1:36.5. Fingers crossed it was the heat+humidity, or maybe slight overtraining. If not I have no chance of reaching my Goals for this year.

No. Now go away you're all too good.

Roger bumped me out of boat one, does he post? Much respect he is a good deal more experienced in life than me and has totally detroyed my time and the little self belief I had!

What about you lot give me a two minute head start?

Did the sprinty bits of the one for Mr Sims challenge today and managed to take about 4 seconds off my 2k pb. I feel thats a soft pb for me though - I seriously under achieve at that distance

I seem to be having a good week. Another pb - this time at 10k, knocking 8.1 seconds off. :D

Just did 14,207m for 60 minutes today. But soft for me too - not gone hard at that distance before. And there was a little more in the tank I think.

Finished a 30 PB for the season of 7053 at about 10:40 tonight.

Hoping to get to 7400+ by the end of the month

I got one by accident the other night at the gym - have been getting bored rowing lately, so have been mixing it up by rowing hard as possible for a minute, then cruising for a minute, and so on. Have landed a couple of PB's doing that sort of thing, but this one came by accident, so knocked 4 odd seconds off my 10k PB, down to 26:40.

COld winter here at the moment, so hard to get motivated to row on home erg, and only get to the gym twice or three times a wekk if lucky!

Hi Bartman - good to have you with us :D
26.40 for 10k?? Dont you mean 36.40. 26.40 would be a world record by a considerable margin

Well done. I think 30 minutes is a horrid distance. Short enough to feel you can pull hard all the time, long enough to feel you can't!

After I saw this I realised I hadn't attempted the 1hour this season.

Today I was intending to have a rest from rowing, so off I set to go to the swimming pool to clock up 50+ lengths. Unfortunately it was closed so after a wander round town I decided to come home and attempt the 1hour row.

My previous PB of 13918m equated to just over 2:09/500m so I entered that as the pace boat to row against.
I was trying to take it fairly easy at the start as I was a bit daunted by having to row that long but on hindsight I think I could have gone a bit quicker at the start.

My split times for each 12min section were
2:09.4 :?
2:09.4 :?
2:05.0
2:03.4
2:00.0 :D

New PB of 14358m

After a barracking from Michelle, I managed to slip into boat three with a 7844m 30 minutes (130+ metres up on PB). But I still think it's too hot   . It was cool this morning, but by the time I got back from work the humidity was up again.

Have to improve on this pretty soon, cos gunslinger is not far behind. Must return to get the metres up now - still need to get some poinds off.

Looking at your PBs I reckon you could annihilate your 10km time now too.

There is a time delay in entries. Made the one above then almost made it again because it didn't appear immediately. And its pounds not poinds !!

Funnily enough I was thinking the same today. :)

There should be no time delay since they hit the database straight away. It could be that your internet service provider is caching the pages somehow. If the forum says your message is posted then it really is. How long it takes for your service provider to show you the page is anyone's guess!

Looking at your times compared to mine, you really should obliterating your 10k, 1 hour, and HM times :) . I feel I should be able to reduce my 5k and 2k times. Go for it Gregor - you know you want to

I hear what you are saying Stan. I think its because previously I've been focusing too much on the shorter distances like the 2000m and 5000m. I need to attempt the longer distances more to get those times down, starting with the 10,000m and the half marathon. Maybe next week.
