Fortunately I am an early riser since it is 7am my time when this event occurs.
Now who's bright idea was that? Oh, right Christine.
Well I am not normally an early riser but if I want to get any rowing done it has to be before I have to drive people places so 0700 it is! BTW This Saturday's 60min is up on RowPro. Hope to see you all there.

JD what great improvement on your 60 min PB. =D> =D> =D> Glad you had so much FS company to push you along. I find I can't wuss out when the gang is on the same row, especially when Lee is paddling along at R20 giving him way too much time to watch my splits!

The thing I like about starting an exercise program (and being an under-achiever) is that it is so easy to get a PB. (30' - 6435m)

Gotta start somewhere - and believe me - they get MUCH harder after a couple of years (but become all the sweeter when you nail one)

Enjoy them whilst you can

Well done Tim! ^O^ Unplanned PBs always seem more fun.

JD - that is a GREAT 60' PB, especially given your mind-blowing distance rowing too. Hearty congratulations =D> ^O^

Tim - well done for the 30' PB =D> =D> Maybe the secret to getting the PB was the fact that you were in a rush so you rowed like the clappers :?:

Zoot - likewise - well done for the 30' PB =D> =D> Enjoy now as it does get a bit harder (but only a bit)

Oh, I know it gets much harder. But for now, I'll bask in simple glories.

@Christine - Nope don't have RowPro... but I've been thinking about it. I can't quite visualize how it works, though. Don't you need to be able to see your computer monitor while rowing? (I can barely see the PM4 - with my glasses off).

I am still closing in on my goal of doing 50k this week for the 'Dog Days of Summer Challenge'. I have just had my second PB this week. Clear evidence that I was unfit before or I haven't been trying hard enough! Today I did 41:05:07 for 10k. Very pleased with this, although on the last 500m my heart beat was up to 175, which is the highest it's been since I have been monitoring it and 5 bpm more than my theoretical max. I will bask in my self satisfaction for a short while, because I think the law of diminishing returns is starting to kick in now and I won't be able to get much fitter or faster. :D

Great PB Tim - With that size of improvement on your PB, you will certainly get under 40 minutes if you stick at the training. Well done.

Well... very few of my running friends "get" this whole erg thing but to heck with them and their "13.1" and "26.2" oval car window stickers! PB on 5k and crossed 1 million lifetime meters this morning. I feel like throwing a party but will most likely settle for a good beer and a steak on the grill.

1750k/1000k WU/WD
5k
18:57.2 [1:53.7 - 29spm] PB
notes: Plan was to start at 1:56 and negatively split to a 1:55 average to beat previous PB of 19:14.7 [155.4]. Almost HD w 2k left. Focused on breathing and "good strokes" and "push through it" . Saw I had a chance to go sub-19 and went into crazy person mode. Last couple hundred meters were at 1:35ish.

That's great Rob! I know that 'feel like throwing a party' feeling very well but it's not easy when you walk in the house (my erg is in the garden) after a PB that means the world and you tell your wife and she says "Oh. That's nice. Now don't sit down anywhere in the house until you've had a shower.'

Double congrats on the brilliant 5k (my most feared distance) and on the million =D> ^O^ =D>

I'm just thinking, maybe your oval car sticker should say '<19'

You sooooo nailed the reaction I received. Along with a nice "you're rowing on a 'machine', it's not like you're on a real boat or anything" [i've yet to row OTW, but it is in the 2011 plan]. I will have my revenge when I record and watch every minute of rowing from the 2012 Olympics when she wants to watch swimming.

I recognise the part about not sitting down until I've had a shower  more than the part about PB's

Great time for 5K Rob =D> , I'm also hoping to get close to 19 mins this month [-o< . It definately now stands out in your PB cabinet. 8)
