Thank you Max, Dave, Louise, it makes all the on and off erg effort worth while to see the numbers heading in the right direction. Next aim is a 1:55 - Presuming of course I stay injury free.

Plummy your hilarious, "young" - not so much any more, I have to get old but I don't have to grow up. I do get to 'level up' early next year though to enter the 55+ group which will be nice for my planned first race in June 2020 where hopefully I shall not come last. :D

Nice work on your 4min PB Max =D>

Cheers, Lesley

A 30min row of 6436m equals a PB for me. Smashed this season which was 6327 and edged past from my previous rowing in 2014 which was 6407.

A happy Wednesday morning with that result. Might need a kip under the desk later today :D

10000m PB by 19.1 s. I clearly need to update the list. New PB 46:40.4. It was supposed to be a rate restricted to 22, 10k according to the beginner pete plan, but I didnt feel I could mentally deal with that so since not feeling too bad I decided to try for this PB.

Consistent 2k splits, a little faster on the last but couldn't rate up any higher. Sorry about the sideways picture again, not sure why some do that.

I think it is kind of cheating a little since I haven't done a 60 min piece as a standalone before, and I have now, that is another PB :) .

12,533m in 60 min at average 2:23.6, quite consistent throughout which was pleasing.
Every 12 min, metres and pace
12min, 2490, 2:24.5
24min, 2517, 2:23.0
36min, 2490, 2:24.5
48min, 2511, 2:23.3
60min, 2525, 2:22.5

Complete idiocy this morning, after 30 min at 22s/m a nice 2k would be good. Smashed it!!!!! Really happy since I started from a C6 nerve compression issue in mid April, with some days still in tears in the armchair while on heavy pain killers, to now I can't get enough of erging  . Perhaps I should have entered the AIRC this weekend, next year I will be better and get to level up to the 55+ group.

Onwards and downwards

A time I thought might be good to attempt before Christmas achieved. 2000m = 8:32.5

Thank you gentleman,

I am hoping to clear out the 2 remaining 2014 times before Christmas, 1k and 6k, and put a time in for the FM to notch up the extra points for the Nonathlon :D .

I think another look at my goals may be warranted :D , as long as I don't get too carried away

Cheers, Lesley

Well done Lesley, you're certainly on a hot streak right now Image

Haven't troubled this thread for a while but for some reason fancied a hard 60 mins this morning. Didn't look at my PB beforehand but vaguely remembered it was about 15600 so tried to keep the projection around 15700. Had a feeling to HD around 20 mins in but got over that Image

=D> Awesome work on the 15721 ! =D> It is so much harder to stay focused for that length of time than just throw everything at it for 2 mins or less.

And in trying to keep the thread heated up here are another couple of PB's done and dusted this morning. Thats a clean sweep for this season.

A 4min best of 1000m :D since the time is what the AIRC are running tomorrow. The concept log book automatically turned that around as a 1000m time which is also a PB, 1000m in 4 min  Does that count as 2 x PB ?

Then I figured I could cruise a 6k to add meters to the Skeleton Crew challenge. That puts another PB :D of 27:56.9 just 32s faster than 2014. There is probably more I could do for that but not today, not after doing the 1K immediately before.

No more for a while I think, i need to complete the beginner pete plan with only about 6 weeks left, and then decide what rowing plan to follow next. I don't have enough knowledge to plan my own training.

Since setting a PB for 4m in September's IRL I've been meaning to have a go at my 1k. To be fair my 1k is pretty soft at 1:39.8 pace. Given PBs of 1:32.3 for 500m and 1:42.5 for 2k in theory I should be around 1:37.5 pace. But practice is an entirely different matter! The plan was fast start, settle into 1:41-1:42 and blast the final 300m. It was painful at the end but I'll take 3:19.1 @1:39.5, an improvement of 0.6s. I suspect there's more to go for and just need to be braver in terms of holding a lower middle race pace.

PS Very happy to see it was worth 891 nonathlon points, 20 more than last year

Seeing Felton's awesome 60 minutes inspired me to have a go at improving my 15,550m @1:55.7. I was hoping to break 15,600 @1:55.3. Quickly settled into 1.55-1:56 pace which was comfortable (or rather a pace I thought I could keep up without dying). With 12 minutes to go I realised a sub 1:55 or c15,650m might be possible if I went for an early fast finish. So with 5 minutes to go I start counting strokes. Two lots of 20 and I'm scared to look at the screen because I'm not sure if I can keep this up. But when I do look I realise that if I can put in a storming finish 15,700 is the prize. Not sure how I managed that final sprint but my HR peaked at 174 (highest ever is 177). 15,704m @1:54.6. Not quite as good as Felton's 15,721m @1:54.4 but close and far better than I hoped for!

Thanks Felton. Today's challenge was the HM. I was aiming for 900 nonathlon points which is 1:22:22 @ 1:57.1. But couldn't hold 1:57 and slowly drifted. Still happy with a PB at 1:22:40.4 @1:57.5 which is an improvement of c15 seconds and worth 896 points.

Crazybear challenge complete, 30 HM done 6 days short of the 44 days allowed. Started with my one and only FM which in the absence of any other result for that I'm claiming as well 3:33:14.6

Finished number 30 with a PB and finally got under the 1:40 mark, 1:39:48.1. Being a tad stubborn has its benefits sometimes because my legs have had enough HM's to last for quite some time.

Currently, and it will probably change before season end, that leaves me 16 out of 68 in the 50-59 age group for HM and 11 of 18 for the FM, according to the concept site (I'm 54 with a level up not too many weeks away).

Claiming another 2 PB's .

The 100m, knocked 0.9s off from 20.1 to 19.2. Took 2 goes as I tried my normal DF of 125 and I couldn't stay on the seat. Turned it up to full which was DF191, the only time I've rowed with the fly wheel on 10. Third time was slower.

The 500m done on 24th Dec, is now sitting at 1.49.3 down from 1.56.x.

Very much so - tremendous improvement on that 500m - well done. I know what you mean on the 100m with trying to stay on the seat - the line between great technique and planting your delicate parts unceremoniously on the rail is a very fine one!

I did it again  . This time over 1k. Down from 4.00 flat to 3.52.9 . The hr graph says I spent 3min 11s in the red zone. I'd say that means I gave it everything and the erg chest near the end would agree :P . Two lots of 1k wu, and some 20 min steady for cool Down, make up the rest of the hr graph.
