66,410 metres over the last two days. Phew! Hot. Hot. Hot Honours to you.
A Special Mention for Lowell Lemoine and Greg Smith, because with the addition of their BikeErg/SkiErg metres or both, they have now passed One Million Metres For The Season.
Thank you again to all Free Spirits who have been able to find the energy and resolution, to Erg/BikeErg/SkiErg their way through the heat, in order to add their Meltdown Metres to The Team Affiliation Standings.
As you have perhaps realised from some of my comments, I am not a lover of hot weather. In a past life, I was probably something that lived under a rock or in a cave.
This year, it’s not just the discomfort that the heat brings, it’s also unwanted visitors … Sid Slither, the grass snake
and Flaming Frankie the fox.
Sid has been helping himself to the
in our pond - there is definitely something evil and evil looking about snakes and in literature, I cannot think of any who feature as the good guys. The first time that I saw Sid, he was snaking across the pond towards me. Eeew! I have seen him quite a few times now, usually the end of his tail slithering into the undergrowth. I think I know where Sid has his hideout. Roll on October, when he’ll hibernate.
As for Flaming Frankie … Last night I was nicely dozing off, when ... screech/scream coming from under our bedroom window.
My only consolation being that if I was fated to have a heart attack, it should have been then ... but I'm still here.
Richard didn’t hear a thing. Dead to the world.
Plummy, apologies for going off the beaten track.
