Race you to 3 MM ?

Hmmm...

This time last week, I was 46k ahead of my dear friend Alan. Today, I find myself 17k behind that dastardly so and so.

And we are both closing in on 3MM. It appears I have four options:

1. Accept that he's going to get to 3MM before me.
2. Spend all day tomorrow on the erg.
3. Find some way to nobble him so that he can't row for a few days (would you like the use of my apartment in Alvor for a few days Alan?).
4. Arrive at a detente where we agree to cross the 3MM line at the same time (showing the same exemplary teamwork as was demonstrated by our illustrious teammates Peggy Hubbard and Barbara Hoyt last month).

Over to you Alan. No pressure...

Sorry Paul -- a quick glance at the meterboard and it's clear that Alan is being powered by what Richard described as the "testosterone fuelled caveman complex" and has gone on a mad sprint past you with the checkered flag in sight. And since TFCC is a contagious condition....

A few seasons ago Christine and myself were vying for top FS on this challenge.

On the last day when I went to bed she was over 90k behind me.........

She beat me

So I was not going to let lightning strike twice

Last night I struggled for 80 mins and managed a paltry 18577m felt like dying in the middle

This morning managed 17000m in the gym at 7am before work and I just crept over 3MM-I might take the night off

Congratulations Alan! 111,674 meters over the last six days is mind boggling. I said on FaceBook last night that I was "planning" to get up at 6 and row for around two hours. Unfortunately, I forgot to set the alarm.

Anyway, you may consider me well and truly whupped! =D> I'd offer to race you to 4 MM, but I'd be afraid you'd take me up on it, even though there's just over a month left before the season ends!

The pain was almost worth it-back when I was racing Christine in 2010 I managed 920,000m in the 32 days and she still beat me

How these top rowers manage their prodigious distances is beyond me.-975,000 in 11 and a bit days WOW

With a job I do not have enough discretionary time left to match their efforts, I have to row at 7 am and/or after 5:30 pm and thats it

Thanks for the inspiration on your fantastic times, even though I have beaten all my times for last season on the Nonathlon except the 500 and I will do it on that too next month, you really kicked my butt on all 9 =D>

The closest I am to your times is the HM-I get better as I go longer and I think I have a low 1:23 in me with a few days rest after the WRC is finished
