Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Wowzer that's amazing Eric ^O^ . 10k is still the longest row I have completed and I don't think I have ever gone over 20k in a day. I have also recently aquired my own erg and have just got a pm3 for it this week, although I'm not planning a 100k any time soon

Re: March CTC - #C2TweetCrew Pyramid

Well that was pretty horrible. I knew it was going to really hurt half way through the middle interval. Plan was to see if I could stick to 1:35 average during first 3 intervals and see how I felt. 4th interval was by far the worst and pace was really falling by the end. Think this was the first tim...

Re: February CTC - RowPro Rules Rugby Test

I looked at the CTC page and it has already gone onto March challenge so I can't ammend my score to 1. I messaged Dougie to see if he could remove my distance. He seemed happy to let it stand as the rules were not hard and fast. Maybe I should do it again tomorrow and see if I can match or better my...

Re: February CTC - RowPro Rules Rugby Test

Might have to maroon some people on the shore as I have asked for my distance to be removed from CTC board. I was was really tired as I had worked a night shift thursday and I missed off the standing starts for each interval when I noted down the intervals before leaving for the gym. Wasn't e...

Re: My little free spirit

Strider, if he ends up as big as me I hope he chooses rowing and doesn't wait until his mid 30's like me.
Ann, yes he is a bit of a cute thing. Also noticed that his hoodie made him look like a free spirit when I saw the pics.

New arrival

I am now the proud owner of of a rather tatty model C, my first erg. Picked it up the other day, it is an ex gym machine with faulty monitor, but only paid £100. Will give it a good service and clean this week and see if anything needs replacing. I'll be using it without monitor (using heart rate mo...

Model C with broken PM2/PM2+

I have just seen a model C for sale, but with broken monitor. Was just wondering if it is not fixable if there area any parts/sensors/wires related to the monitor that are not available to buy? Hoping that I may get it cheap enough that even if I have to get PM3 upgrade it will be worth it.

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Nice 2k Eric 8) For me recently it has been a case of pride before a fall. I was on a bit of a high before christmas with a good showing in the CTC and felt that I was getting close to previous levels. However since christmas I most of my faster sessions have resulted in HD failure. Starting with an...

Re: Buying a model B advice

Hi Dave, I don't really have a budget, so as little as possible. I will still have my gym membership as I can use it 2-3 times a week and also use weihts. My idea was to do any short intervals and quick stuff when I use the model D in the gym and use the model B at home for longer stuff/steady state...

Buying a model B advice

Hi, I'm just not getting as many sessions in the gym (on model D) as I would like due to working shifts and having a little person to look after. I have seen a model B for sale and just wondering what peoples views on them are. Is there anything to look out for? Any parts hat ware out and can't be r...

Re: December CTC: 3x2k/3´ slowest rep to count

Trying to work out what pace to try next for this one, think I will go for around 1:42 and see what happens. Was thinking that around 1:40 would be pretty good for the really quick guys, but just seen Graham Benton's pace  1:35.8

Gym near Wincanton/Gillingham

I will be spending some time at my parents over christmas and would like to get a couple of erg sessions in while there. Does anyone use or know if there are any gyms in the Wincanton/Gillingham area of Somerset or Dorset, that allow non members to use them?

Well done Rodger, the splits looked well controlled to me. I find that some of my best rows are not planned or the plan changes part way through. 10k pb for me this week. Re: December CTC: 3x2k/3´ slowest rep to count

Really tough session but managed to hold sub seven for all three intervals. Didn't think it would be as hard as it was, having completed 3 x 2k with 5 rest at sub seven pace with little drama last week.

Hi everyone, good to see this thread still going strong, with some familliar faces and some newer ones. I am slowly getting back to fitness after around 18 months of almost no sporting activity. For various reasons I have been away from the erg, the short version being: new baby born really early, r...
