Lots of stretching before and after rowing.Strict orders from the doctor. #-o The stretching seems to be working wonders, and a slight change in technique.Spreading the back more on every stroke. Hi Jason, Is it a piriformis syndrome (because some stretching exercises seem to be having a ma...

Re: Training for BIRC 2009.

Hi Free  s, Great idea with this thread! The logic behind my approach is that I know it's going to hurt but getting used to the extreme pain over long periods will make the "6 minutes and 20 seconds" feel easy - I think there might be a flaw in my reasoning somewhere! Jonny, I´m a...

Erik, Enjoy the water. How long have you been rowing otw? Were you in a 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x? (Forgive me for asking a repeat questions... ) Yes, I will, Emily! I have been rowing in inrigger for a year now, and outrigger a couple of times (1x, 2x and 8x)! Tuesday it was in inrigger ( 2 plus cox...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Hi Free  s, Yesterday I started my OTW season: 14 km followed by 3k in the erg (R24, 11 minutes)! It felt good to be in an "actual" boat again - even though I really focus on using my core muscles in the erg, they are doing so much more work to stabilize the body from the movement...

Re: March CTC - 10 * 1 min with 1 min rest

I think it was Eric P. in an earlier post who said that doing this sort of set regularly over a period of a few months has helped him achieve a seriously good 2k time. Might have to do this, or something similar every week and see what I can get my 2k down to for the autumn. Hi Jonny, Great attempt...

Hi Jesper,

yes, it surely looks PP´ish to me (but what do I know!?!)!

The 10 k in week 2 was a bit slower than in week 1... So was it at a (much) lower sr?
