Re: WELCOME to New Members

Welcome to the forum Tapio. I'm very new here myself, just two weeks on here, but I've already felt the power of the support on here. The goal if trying to fill a signature is great , but the supportive comments from others helped me push that little but more.

Have fun!

Re: While the cats away... my weekend plans

So I intended to add and improve to my table this weekend. Then in Friday night I made the poor decision that navigating the kids room with toys strewn over the floor should be done in the dark. Cue me kicking a box and breaking my third toe. I managed a 500 in 137.3 and 7680m in 30 minutes though. ...

Re: While the cats away... my weekend plans

Ugh... I think my plans were a bit over ambitious! No improvement on other times, but 10k in 38:55.8

Rest day tomorrow methinks. Which means a 23mile bike commute! Wahey!!! :-)

Thanks for keeping me company this weekend folks!

Re: While the cats away... my weekend plans

Aww, thanks folks - encouragement like this is amazing to hear. Sadly tonight's session was a bust due to a teething toddler. But I could probably do with the rest. 10k tomorrow...

Thanks again for the words.

Re: While the cats away... my weekend plans

6k 22:59.6
100m 18.9
1 mile 5:43.8
LP 1:30

Breathing out of my backside after the 6k. Not sure how this evening's 10k will fair!

Re: While the cats away... my weekend plans

So, tonight's scores on the board...

1000m: 3:25.3
500m: 1:37.4 (bad idea after the 1000. Started at 1:30, faded fast)
CTC: 14:34.2 (posted to their site)
LP: 1:30 though I've no idea what I'm doing with this

Not bad. Though must improve on 500!

Re: While the cats away... my weekend plans

I'm hoping they'll be at as max as I can manage - but as you asked, this is mostly about getting scores on the board to then come back and improve on them. I think I'm the reverse to you though, I prefer the short bits at the front. Wait... that sounds strange.... You're right about the 2k then 30 m...

While the cats away... my weekend plans

I'm waiting for an effect to render, which recently, means I end up surfing this forum. Anyway, I thought I'd post this time instead of reading. My lovely wife and one daughter are away until Sunday evening, and the toddler still takes a 2 hour nap during the day. Therefore... I'm going to try to fi...

Re: WELCOME to New Members

Well I'm coming to this from a cyclist point of view, who came to cycling from a squash point of view (which is where I got into rowing in the first place - training for squash). I'm used to long weekend rides (70miles plus) and I treat my commute to work as Fartlek sprint training between lights, s...

Re: WELCOME to New Members

I promise I won't litter this with updates, but went from 19:57 to 18:50 for a 5K tonight.

Funny how quickly the body remembers to do something you've done before. I get the feeling future improvements won't come quite as quickly!

Re: WELCOME to New Members

Hey folks, I just bought a Model D with PM3 to get back into rowing. Well, I say 'back into' - it's not like I ever rocked the world at it, but I only ever did it in the gym, really enjoyed it, and got down to 6:52 for a 2K - so in an effort to keep in shape as a cyclist, went on the hunt, and bough...
