Thanks Paul,
Let's have some classy rhyming:
"His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti"

Re: Name that tune
Apologies, I dropped the ball the last couple of days (busy at work) and didn't respond to earlier suggestions. You are of course correct Paul. I saw them at Glastonbury a few years ago (educating my kids!) and they were truly awesome live. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. I find t...

Re: Name that tune
It looks like you all need a couple more lines. This band may be relatively recent (aka this century) but they are huge globally:
Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?
There is no message we're receiving
Let me know, is your heart still beating?
Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?
There is no message we're receiving
Let me know, is your heart still beating?

Re: Name that tune
Thanks Peter. I could go really modern and ask my teenagers, but probably none of us would stand a chance then. Here’s something that had a bit of global reach:
Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?
Will your system be alright
When you dream of home tonight?

Re: Name that tune
Well it’s definitely Oasis. Many of their songs from that album merge in my head, but I think it’s “Don’t look back in anger”?

Re: Foot straps and othe questions
Ever thought of rowing strapless I have started rowing warm ups and cool downs strapless Paul - mainly because of reading you advocating it! I could probably manage my slow steady rows strapless now, but I’m quite sure not anything very fast. Something to aim for... I imagine my technique leaves a ...

Re: Foot straps and othe questions
I have often wondered the same. I’m in position 4 because it feels comfy, but as a LW female, I find there is little weight to keep me attached to the seat when “sprinting” (quotes to signify all things are relative  ). I wondered if a different foot position might change the angle and glue...

Re: "The last workout of this season"
My last workout of the season was a very gentle 3x20min r2 with a slow SPM. This reflects my efforts to remember why I started rowing in the first place (to be a little healthier in my middle age). Like many, I struggle to fit rowing around a full on job and kids, and I figured rowing a bit more gen...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
On the bright side I got a 50 point Nonathlon haul and a full-house of green in the Metanonathlon   Nicely done Jon! Your nonathlon is looking classy: I'm thinking maybe you should aim to turn the whole row blue next season  since now you've already achieved a fully green...

I like your thinking Jon. I’ll take the 1:25the adjusted time for that row is 1:25!!!

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
And then there were 3  My 1:56.5 is going to look ever so slow compared to you lads but it gave me 900 nonathlon points, so not so tardy after all. Amazing what a few weeks steady rowing can do for your fitness... May I just say what a pleasure it's been rowing with ye all. I'd have done fa...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Back seems to be OK again (I can at least reach to put my socks on now  ) so I took the advantage of a day off work (Happy St Patrick’s Day!) to crank out a 10k. Was woefully slow - 4 mins off my best from just a few months ago - but I guess that reflects zero rowing for about six weeks. Not su...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
I did indeed have a very slow standing start 2k rep from the start of the month so I’ve stuck that in. Sat on the rower this am for the first time in 3 weeks. The fact I could lower myself on to it and get back up again shows a marked improvement in the back muscle! Rowed very gingerly for a couple ...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Lads, it's looking increasingly like I'm going to let you down this month. I pulled a muscle in my back a couple of weeks ago and it appears to be healing at middle-aged lady pace (rather than the superfast speed I anticipated in my fantasy world where I am still young and fit!). I may have a very s...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21
Blimey that’s fast Kevin! Got mine in this afternoon. A bit of a more stately pace giving me 271m, which is 10m short of my best (ie the only other time I’ve ever rowed 1min ) but I was WAY fitter then, so pretty content. Louise
