Re: Skierg and the meterboard

Hi Barbara, I looked at the video -- can see why gentlemen would need considerable time studying technique (ha), but my main impression was that it looks hard on her neck? I started with the technique showed in that video. Nice and easy strokes at the beginning. But I quickly discovered, that this m...

Re: Skierg and the meterboard

Hi Barbara, Would be curious how a half marathon compares, as you'd gotten yours to a great time last year. Did my first HM on the Skierg today. With 1:41:41 it was almost exactly 10 min. slower than my first rowing HM a year ago. Not too bad, considering I was sure after 15 min. I wouldn't make it ...

Re: Skierg and the meterboard

Grüezi Boris, Did you watch this one too? I found it very helpful (to watch it in slow motion). Unfortunately it's not in english language available. :( This was actually the first video I watched (240 watts at 60 s/m? Are you kidding me?) :) I do like this series a lot! And not only because of the ...

Re: Skierg and the meterboard

Hi Barbara, the Skierg is, well, totally not what I expected. I've never used one before and only had the information from the c2 homepage and some youtube videos. It looked so easy there and I thought that would - as you said - be a nice way to 'relax' after rowing. Boy, was I wrong! My first worko...

Re: Skierg and the meterboard

Ok, couldn't resist and bought a Skierg. Today I did my first workout and uploaded it to the concept2 logbook. It showed up there as skierg workout.

Full disclosure: It also was added to my daily meters on the Free Spirits meterboard. I'm not sure if I can do anything about it.

Skierg and the meterboard

Hi there, I'm thinking about buying a Skierg. And I was wondering how the Free Spirits feel about meters logged on a Skierg. If I log them on the concept2 logbook, will they automatically be added to my "rowed" meters here on the Free Spirits meterboard? If so, is this being frowned upon, ...

Re: Fall Team Challenge

Nicely done everybody!

I pinched a nerv in my back really bad last Saturday. So no rowing for me for a few days since I'm on heavy pain killers right now. But fortunatelly the FTC is already over.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

What a great day. Managed to shave off another minute rowing a HM. So far 1:26:29.9 was my PB. And today: 1:25:27.8

I am very very pleased

Butt pain

Ok, searched this forum and only found out so far, that I'm not alone :? I'm having this problem with my butt hurting really bad on longer rows. 60 min. usually is no problem. But more than that and my butt (more exactly those two bones down there) start hurting like hell. The last third of an HM is...

I'm not on Facebook so it would be kind of you to ask.

Do you have a link to Stuart's page on Facebook? Seems you can not do a search there unless you're logged in.

Re: Crazy Bear Challenge

Does anyone know if this challenge will be held this year? I thought I read something about it some weeks ago. But right now I can't seem to find any links to a CBC 2015.

Anyone got a link?

Re: Update coming to forum software + a question...

Well, I only started rowing in January and joined the Free Spirits in May. And I must say, I surfed the Free Spirits web pages quite a lot in the beginning. I often wished they would have been more up to date, but nevertheless I found them informative. Would be nice if someone finds the time to keep...

Re: over training or what's the issue?

If you tell yourself just to drink less, every glass will weigh heavy on your mind. Instead, you can have your guilty pleasures. That is not the problem. The difficult thing is not to indulge too often. Allow yourself a fixed amount of wine, let's say per week. And then it is ok for you to enjoy it....

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Paul, I feel the urge to add my comments because I can relate to you very much. I have the same "symptoms", feeling exhausted and tired. And I have been thinking a lot lately how to change that. But I haven't come up with a good solution so far. Here are some (random) thoughts: I have the ...

Thanks, Paul!

Wanting to read my name here has been my main motivation over the last few weeks. So keep up congratulating people here :-)

And there is this little voice in my head that yells at me with every stroke: you... must... make... the... top... 10
