Re: Name that Film

Spot on Paul. :D I've never seen Gene Hackman in a comedy role before - it's worth watching the film just to see him in drag: blonde wig, full makeup and a spangly dress. The late Mike Nichols never let the film descend into schmaltz; if that had been the case, then instead of watching it so many ti...

Some poetic licence here as I'm departing from the facts in the hope of giving a clue. It's the English pronunciation in the film but the origins of the story are French. :)

Paul, you did say that it would be easy and I do have the DVD. :)

This is a comedy ( 1996 ). There are some songs but it isn't classed as a musical.

Re: Name that tune

The Kinks - Lola? Good idea Steve but not the right answer. PS: I've no idea what song it is, but maybe another clue would help. I didn't think that anyone would have difficulty with this one. The clue of clues needed here I think. This song's vocalist would have looked in the mirror and said' &quo...

It's a bit tricky trying to think of a song that's not too easy.

Here's a clue; Bruce Jenner has nothing to do with this song but Ann's suggestion is working along the right lines.

Mmmm :-k

It's an anagram of "Marching Ham Tins" When I asked my son, Ian, a few minutes ago, he said it was The Smiths ' This Charming Man ' . Not sure if that qualifies me or not? If it does would somebody else like to take a turn as I'm going away tomorrow and I do not possess any electronic giz...
