Thanks for the entry, Philip, and the update, plummy.
Philip enters at #2, pipping Bill on the fastest adjusted time tie-breaker:

Re: Heart Monitors
Completed my first step test today (the one on this site). At the end of the test, my HR was 194, quite a bit higher than my age-predicted max of 182. So my heart rate ranges are quite a bit different too. Turns out the UT1 pieces I did over the weekend were actually UT2. Which is why I wanted to do...

That's quite a chunk to take off your PB - no wonder you're really happy. Well one Yambo. =D>

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km
Fantastic effort, Mikkel. =D> Is it enough? The time alone wasn't quite enough, to be honest. It put you in a tie with Bill for the lead, and he had the faster adjusted time... But your weight loss since your first attempt was enough to swing it in your favour. You are now in the lead: waarc - mar 2...

Re: March CTC 920m
OK, we're pretty much half way through the month and we have five boats floated. Not bad, but hopefully there's still lots of you intending to give this a go who are waiting until nearer the end of the month. Let's target ten boats floated by the 31st.

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km
I think that if you were doing this for accurate normalisation, all the functions would be defined in terms of power, but that isn't the rules that Alan has kindly agreed to run. It was only important re: the gender adjustment because, as you can see, applying 15% linearly gives a run-away advantag...

Re: Weight & Age Adjusted Rowing Challenges
I was wondering about making some changes to WAARC for the 2013/14 season (which starts in May). But I'd like to get an idea what those who take part (or would take part) think. So here are some questions to prompt discussion. Are you happy with each month being a stand-alone challenge, usually set ...

6:40 wouldn't be enough at your current weight, Mikkel. If you could lose a couple of kilos and do a 6:40 it might be very close.

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km
OK, with Mike and Grant's tweak of the female power adjustment, millie drops down to 3rd, and Bill finds himself in the lead.
And although plummy enters at position 5 of 6, he does have the fastest weight adjusted time.

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km
Thanks for the info, Grant. And good to see you back posting. I don't think everything should be converted to power, as that would probably change the basis under which C2's age and weight adjustments are designed to operate. http://concept2.co.uk/rns/adjustment As you'll see, the weight adjustment ...

Re: New Young Female Lightweight Joins Team
Thank you all. Isla is currently asleep in her moses basket. It would be unfair to say the house is now peaceful, as other than when she wants fed, she is a remarkably chilled baby. I didn't mention this previously... while I'm off work, I have no access to a gym for a while. So a hired C2...

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km
Thanks for the entry, plummy. I'll update the leaderboard soon. One quick question, Alan - how have you applied the 15% bonus? I suspect it should be applied as a power bonus, rather than raw time. Haven't had chance to see if that is how you did it... I applied it as a 15% bonus to raw time. So in ...

New Young Female Lightweight Joins Team
On Monday 11th March 2013 at 10.27pm, Isla Louise Strang was born. Weighing 8 lbs and 15.5 oz, she can clearly put on quite a bit of muscle-mass and still remain a LWT. :fswink: Mother and baby are doing great. As is father. Heck, we were home from hospital less than 24 hours after leaving for hospi...

Well done on a great HM, Mike. Fingers crossed you don't get any bad reaction from it.
Must admit to feeling rather jealous while reading it. Low heart rate, feeling good during a row. It's been a loooong time since those applied to me!

Re: Going Lwt: How much performance did you lose?
This is a hard one for me to answer, since prior to going LWT, I hadn't been training for a couple of years. I'd been rowing, yes, but following no kind of plan with no goal in mind. So what may appear to be performance loss due to losing weight may have been the case anyway. What I don't have, unfo...
