Plummy-you have set the bar - well done :D

Spikeola is in a different playground to me so I'll just glance admiringly at his figures-4 x sub 7- one would be nice !

I'll give it another crack in a few weeks and see how I get on

Thanks Thomas.

I have been doing all my none time trial rowing strapless so am improving my technique, it's a really excellent way of getting in touch with your stroke.

I'll let you know how it goes-thanks again-much appreciated. 8)

Hi Thomas, I think that it might be person specific - your 130 might equate to the same effort/effectiveness ratio as Spikeola on 140 for example It's just that I have been training (albeit for just 2 months properly) so far-at around 130-5 df but read Spikeola who is a weighty individual much as my...

Brilliant job Thomas, I may put my name down next year however still have to pass 7 minutes first.

I wonder as a newbie how much difference DF makes as your DF was quite low, I don't think I could pull sub 1.40 without some " weight" on the chain

I'll look for your sub 6:30 next :D

Hi Wojtek,

I was 103kg or slightly more when I started properly at the end of November, down to 99 kg now.

Height was 1.78m then but with all that pulling and stretching who knows !

So Yes I am small and rotund :D

Can I join in for the sub 7 hunt ?

As I am at exactly the same time as Wojtek currently- 7:05.9 it should be interesting to see who gets theire first !

I fear age is on his side or maybe my extra 20 years life experience will out !

Spikeola, I tried your variation on the Pete Plan today- 4 x 2k with 4 mins rest Aiming for pb + 25-30 sec rate of around 7:30-35 average Managed :- 7:28.9 7:38.9 7:37.5 7:33.0 This is the end of my second month of regular rowing and I put it all down to guts, determination and nicking the great ide...

Hi Plummy and Richard, I'm a strapping 5 ' 10" and 99 kgs rapidly going down, was 103kg when I started this nonesense end of last year. I have been dipping in and out of Pete Plan and combining it with elements of Eddie Fletcher's marathon plan. Sub 7 was a goal for this year, we'll see how it ...

Well done all at EIRC. I've been lurking in the wings-a newbie. Discovered the Concept 2 late last year and gradually making progress. It's an addiction ! Spike has to be the new Graham Benton. Managed a new pb the day before Wojtek- 7.05.9 My strategy is to NOT look at the monitor until around 300 ...

Thanks Stan, much appreciated.

I dipped into the Pete Plan, however thought I needed a bit of mileage in my legs so have done a few weeks of the Marathon training, it calls for a lot of time in week 3-the hard week so may move back to PP-thanks again.

New Rower

Hi I joined the meter board a few weeks ago and have read the forum a few times and thought I would dip my toe in and post. I am a little older than some of you guys but very driven once I get into something. Only just started rowing after swimming 3-4 times a week for the last 3-4 years, not very f...
