Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Well done! I have to say though, your evil voices are nicer than mine. Mine, firstly would have tried to convince me to stop at half marathon distance. Then, they'd get sheer evil and try to tell me that a full marathon is only 10k and a bit more, just keep going!! But well done to you. Good idea a...

Re: Crash-B this weekend!

Thanks folks. The good news is that he hotel got me access to a great gym nearby (Equinox) and I had a tentative session on one of their C2s. Don't know if I'll be able to hold 1:39 - but fingers cross will at least be able to keep it under 6:45. Gonna have to keep it at 130df though. I've never do...

Re: Building an Aerobic Base

Great information, thank you Boris, your help is greatly appreciated. ^O^ It is time that I start to work on this and your information will help me create a plan. It's odd, but I searched online for information about this and found very little in actual useful information. Most of the sites just spo...

Re: Building an Aerobic Base

Hey Mardix, the subject is very interesting. =P~ I try to explain it as easy as possible and hope it does not sound to "rude/strict/harsh" - as my language skills are still limited. Therefore my answer is no . So, first and most important, you are not being rude or strict or harsh....

Building an Aerobic Base

Questions regarding building an aerobic base; long and slow is what's called for from what I understand. First question: does 5 to 6 days per week, 60' per day, at UT2 sound about right for 'long and slow'? Second question relates to the 'long' part: Is more necessarily better? Do we get twice as mu...

Re: Nutrition and Macronutrients

The one had around 20-25% body-fat, but he looked like 5-6%. The other something around 40% and he looked like that. The difference was… For the one the fat was in between the muscels (intramuscularly) for more efficient usage during exercise. 8) Things I've learned over the years in my que...

Re: Injuries.....:(

So much for paradise. My wife and I escaped the cold and snow in Boston down to Aruba. The first three days were great, but then I came down with some kind of a nasty bug. Now its four days later, I'm back in the snow and cold, and I still haven't shaken the flu. :( Hopefully, I start some gentle p...

Re: Injuries.....:(

I decided not to do any erging yesterday. My back wasn't too bad today (a bit of a twinge, but I wasn't listing to the side like a drunken sailor, which is a big improvement on Friday  ), so I decided to do another just row. Felt a bit stiff at the start, but I felt fine after I'd warmed up, ...

Nutrition and Macronutrients

Anyone else in the group tracking nutrition and macronutrients? I am a numbers geek. I found that if I want to lose weight, then the only thing to do is track what I eat. It's not unlike my rowing - I can't set and achieve goals without seeing the numbers. I'm trying to maintain 40% protein, 25% car...

Re: Injuries.....:(

I have been suffering intermittent lower back pain for quite a while, but it became much worse a few days ago. After hobbling around the place for a couple of days, it reached a point last night where I was limping so badly, I called my physio for an appointment. Bad to hear, Paul. There's nothing ...

I think this probably deserves a gold star Plummy. Dave. Congratulations! Maybe we should get red stars for reaching an exact million w...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

As I remember/understand (from you report) you haven't been responsible for the accident and the injury you got from it - life can be cruel. So many people wouldn't even try to "fight back to new life", but you did - it needs strong will power. In your eyes your progress seems to be slow ...
