Re: Indoor Rowers League 2017 / 2018
So, now Rodger left and Barbara jumped in but did not row until now. And what about Calalli and Fred who did row and Seb and Kirstin who didn't? :? Even if this is a long time commitment, a zero in the 1st month isn't a promising start without some form of heads up "I'm in but got a thing to so...

Re: September ctc - 6k unrestricted
Thanks!
It was: 3 weeks off + 3 weeks build up.
After the 3 weeks off, rowing for an hour was really painful, so I needed a bit to get going again.

Re: August ctc - 200m, standing start, free stroke rate
I have to skip the CTC even if it is that short. I admit I did not like this months CTC but not doing it feels worse.
I had an accident last Thursday with the bike, and suffered a contusion, the neck is still sore and I should not row until the end of the month.
Sorry
Ralf

Re: New to rowing and how to improve
Long distance is a personal thing as is fast speed :) Start with maybe 45 minutes and check your HR, if you can hold a pace you like (wether this is 1:55 or 2:25 is up to you) and can stay in UT2 go up with the time. By the time you do HMs you are investing serious time in you workouts per session s...

Re: New to rowing and how to improve
Welcome! When it comes to Spits, most people prefer negative splits, which means that you start a bit slower than what you plan to achieve as an average and then get faster every 500m. I for one start fast and slow down after 1/3 or 1/2 distance. Both tactics are IMHO mostly psychological, because w...

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Congrats David!
I beat my 6k PB today as well, 10.7s better that in Jan 2015.
But I guess that's it for now, the 5k and 1h are harder, and I'm happy now. 4 PBs was not what I expected while preping for the "turn of the Seassons" FMs and the TdE.

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Predictor told me to pull a 1:47.5 for a 10k but I could only manage a 1:47.9
But 35:59.5 is a PB anyhow by 18.9s. DF 160 \o/

warm up well before, in case the sprints push you more than what's good for your back

Re: 2017 Weight Loss Thread
Hello, I'm happy in the moment, before May I was building up for the "traditional" end of season FM and did not care about weight. After my early season FM, I started trying to get back on my target weight, I was lucky to hit my target end of June (before the TdE) and it was quite stable t...

Thanks Guys! Here comes my TdE-Conclusion Untill now this is the season with the most rowed meters for me, after 3 month I'm halfway through the distance I have done last year. Coming from the early FM PB in May, staring with high DF and more long distance rows for weight loss and as prep for the Td...

late posting
Start fresh and ease it of to the finsh! Sure you can't go all out on the start but that is not the point.
Mentally, positive splitting is easy for me.

Re: Tour d' Estonie
Paul, I will definitely not row it alone, this time I had Malwina from C2TweetCrew to push me.
The 15th row had the same distance, could chop of a big 0.5s chunk from the pace
Only 3 rows left \o/
