Re: Meter board banter

Thanks Phil. I've been given a provisional license by my physio to start rowing again every second day to see how my elbow holds up. Doesn't feel any worse than usual today, so hope this means I can start getting back into a regular routine before too long. [-o< Small steps to recovery, dont...

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Weird. They may be added to the November 3rd ones. I was looking at something minor last night so may have broken it. The daily totals still appear to be in the personal log pages, so we'll just have to wait 6 days and pretend it didn't happen. Thanks Thomas, you are correct the season total...

Hi Thomas,

Not sure if you've noticed but all the Nov 2nd rows have disappeared from the metre board!

Re: Millionaires club-Season

Congratulations to Phil Lamb on reaching 1MM for the season. =D> =D> =D> Paul V I'd like to say I enjoyed it.... like to say! I am 9 days behind schedule to make my 3MM season, but I have convinced myself that due to spending time away with work and on holiday the schedule is recoverable! VMT

Re: Introducing the FS Meta-nonathlon 2015

Hi Roger, I do enjoy the alignment with the nonathalon and the ability to measure yourself against your younger self with the benefit of the age adjustment that comes with it. I enjoy the longer rows and the health and fitness benefits that have come with them, I appreciate that a lot of people will...

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club

Dave,

I have landed in exactly 3 million at the end of a very sweaty session this afternoon. Will you add a gold star for me please?
Cheers, still smiling broadly!

The fact that you're 19th means you're doing it! There are millions of people who aren't doing any where near what you are doing! You can smile broadly and feel a tadge superior, well done Lass.

Re: Introducing the FS Meta-nonathlon 2015

Paul, I can see through your smilies. You really want that 100 point bonus, don't you? I'm not convinced that the bonus is right for the meta-nonathlon. I mentioned the pro-rata thing in an earlier post but I have two other, weightier considerations: 1. In the nonathlon the scores per piece ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

A modest improvement at 500m, I've done 1:41.3 three times, so this evening's 1:40.2 was well overdue! Not a huge improvement but a sure indication that the training is delivering results and best of all, it felt really good. Smiling broadly..... :D

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Decided my 1000m time could be marginally improved. I struggle with the all out burst effort needed for these shorter distances since most of my workouts are more about duration whilst I struggle with my weight which steadfastly refuses to drop. 3:50.6 previously 3:56.0 a month ago so a marginal im...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

A little underwhelmed by a 0.3 of a second improvement in my 10K time down to 41:35.5. It was achieved at a higher than normal D/F (146 opposed to the normal 126) and at a lower SR (24 opposed to my normal 27), food for thought on both variables but an indication that I need to train in a significan...

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

Thought I really ought to start posting some TT results, started with the shortest and looked to post a better time than my 1:41.3 from last year. Lots of marathon training has done nothing for my 500m speed as I posted a ..... 1:41.3, at least it wasn't slower!

In June we are taking the caravan to Cromer for two weeks, peace and quiet, walking, swimming, walking the dog, radio 4, the Guardian crossword and a bottle of single malt = contentment...... Easily pleased

A bit cheeky to post as it is the first time I have rowed it but a very happy chappy this afternoon. FM in 3:22:13.5 well under my 3.5hour target! Re: WELCOME to New Members

Thanks for the welcome! The diversity of long & short rows that go on here is inspiring. And the times are so intimidating! I managed ~800km before the season ended. Now I'm in week 2 of the Pete Plan, but at the moment my goal is just to row the average paces from the 2014 C2 rankings for F/50...
