Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

Nice work, Paul! Are you going to have a few days off to recuperate? (I've never done a FM, I think it'd be the end of me!) Jane, it would definitely be the end of me. Doing an FM is as much a mental chore as a physical one and that's why I tend to fo them off the cuff. If I spent a lot of ti...

It has been there for 21 years, throughout all my kids' childhoods. Jane, happy memories and photographs no doubt? I would have loved a treehouse - had to make do with climbing trees and making dens ( Oh joy :D ) with my friends instead. Do children still climb trees etc? Missing out if they don't....

That's excellent news Phil - hope your surgeon was able to give you the ' Thumbs Up ' with regards to driving again? It made Richard laugh when I told him that you were a ' Die Hard ' - he is a self-confessed pedant when it comes to gardening. If it makes you feel any better, Richard hated Latin at ...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Hi team. I have not posted for a bit because I have had a bad back (but not as bad as sciatica, thankfully) and very stiff hamstring. So most of my rowing has been plodding along with a stiff leg. Sorry to hear that you are one of the walking wounded at the moment Jason and hope by the time that yo...

Re: Name that tune

If it makes you feel any better Paul, it's the only song that I know by Jackson Browne. Also fortuitous that I was listening to it on my iPod not that long ago - I'm normally pretty hopeless at recognising lyrics. If it is the right answer and because you have been feeling a bit jaded of late ( doin...

I have spent the last hour or so repeating the first line of the verse over and over again and saying, " I know this, I know this. " Then a Eureka moment ... We have this on the album ' The All Time Greatest Rock Songs ' - it's ' Running on Empty ' by Jackson Browne. I also have the song o...

Hello Ron. I'm very sorry to hear that you are out of action again - I was beginning to wonder where you were. Your health and well being are the priority - don't worry about not rowing. When you feel ready, the erg will still be there. Two steps forward, one step back. As least that's positive Ron;...
