Re: CTC for March
Laurence, you showed great mental spirit handling down three times and still get a very respectable time done! I'm convinced you will do great at Basingstoke, good luck! Cathrine, fantastic time! It's greatto see FSI leeding the armada! :fswink: Had my first go at this tonight. Due to recent lack of...

Re: The Pete Plan
Wow Stefan, that was a storming new PB! =D> =D> Nice even pacing makes it look easier than it actually was I'm sure :fswink: After one week of no erging at all it was time for the waterfall yesterday for me. Having learned from the past I knew that I couldn't stand my old session's pace of 1:49.2 so...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
Nice 5k work there Matt! Not too far off your PB :fswink: Next sunday I will be competing in an otw boat race, the Amstel Head of the River in Amsterdam (http://www.headoftheriver.nl/content.php?cid=100,en). It's a long distance race for about 8k so I thought I should try how tghe expected 30 minute...

Great job Plummy, your pace was 3.7 seconds faster than your 5k PB pace! =D>
Jane, I know it's hard, but give yourself some rest and get well soon!
Christine, great rowing and great to know that your rib doesn't bother you so much any more. Painless laughing is so important!

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Bill, excellent half marathon, very well done! =D> =D> Neil, did I spot it correctly that you have a new PB for 5k? After your 6k PB you said you had a 5k PB as well in 18:14.7. Now your signature says 18:01.6? Did I miss your post regarding this? Anyway, brilliant 5k! =D> =D> (But I guess that you'...

This is Felix Bach from team Germany in his first attempt in the junior's race: http://www.catchmerow.com/INDOOR-ROWING/2010-CRASH-B/11256353_e25CY#790830172_NCFUC Obviously he didn't rip off the handle as it was announced but the chain had a loop (see the knot in front of his left leg?) which didn'...

Re: The Pete Plan
Very busy training plan there Jonathan! As you said your challenge attempt felt comfortably, are you going to have another tra at this one? Time fo the speed pyramid for me yesterday. Last time saw a new PB for this session, but my confidence has been weakened the last days by a loss in pace in the ...

Re: The Pete Plan
Stefan, that looks like a serious and controlled 10k. I second Huw's opinion that you can go sub 1:48 pace on that distance if planned. I also get annoyed by people passing me while I'm erging. Many don't consider that you move forward AND backward on a rowing machine. They often bump into me (and a...

Re: Where's Bill D? Get well soon?
Hope the cold has been cured in the meantime! In the runup to Boston Bill mentioned he might switch to running after the B's (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=661&start=2825) so that's probably an additional reason why he has been rare on the forum lately.

Had a go at the 4x1k session yesterday. Last session four weeks ago (shortly before Boston) was an improvement by 1.3 seconds in pace already, so wasn't expecting too much... Last time: Total: 13:47.4_____pace: 1:43.4 This time: 1) 1:43.3 @ 30 2) 1:43.1 @ 30 3) 1:42.9 @ 31 4) 1:42.3 @ 32 Total: 13:4...

Re: The Pete Plan
Stefan, in my opinion a 2k TT will cost you at least four days of training (one rest day before, the day of the TT itself, two days of recovery). Others in the forum even may consider this as an understatement and will say that you lose a full week of training? You certainly won't improve at this ra...

Well done on your CTC effort! I think with a more even pacing you can even shave off some seconds
