Re: 2016 weight loss thread

Zoot, Paul, Ian+, I've been doing really well across Mon - Thurs (no beer, no snacks in the evening, minimal lunches), but yesterday was 'reward day' and the Bank Hol weekend may see it all going back on. We'll see on Monday. I'm guessing I'll be a bit down overall, but not the 3 or 4 pounds I was d...

No longer the lowest score on the Nonalthon board, as I added a 30' run today.

Stan: please add me when you can. Thanks.

Re: 2016 weight loss thread

Paul, you're right, of course. 14 stone doesn't mean I take up two seats on the plane. It's really more body shape than absolute weight on the scales for me, I think. If I had better strength (more muscle, instead of fat), and better abs to keep a better shape, then I might be fine with 14 stone. I'...

Re: 2016 weight loss thread

Is this the Lardies Anonymous meeting? My name is J-Dog and I'm currently a Lardy. 5' 10" and close to 14 stone. 13 stone would be charmingly cuddly, 12 stone would be lean and mean. Lowest I've been is 13 st 3 lbs, and lack of exercise, lots of work travelling, and too much food and drink has ...

Stan,
I'm officially the lowest-scoring person on the list, right now, but add me to the FS roster if you want to. It can only get better . . .

Thanks, Paul.

Hopefully, I'll stick at it.

Getting fat and weak, so need to do something about it :-)

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

First row for over a year. 4k in 20 mins at a hotel gym.

Daughter moving out, so will get a spare room back at home for the Model D at last!

PM3 on Model D at home has busted LCD and USB port, now, so PM5 needs buying, I think.

Howdy, everyone. I'm back!

Re: No longer a virgin

The Dog's barking again! I did 10k (plus another 2k warm=down whilst the iPlayer programme finished) in a new PB without being too dead. I only knocked 6 seconds off, but it's better than blowing up again. Is there a "Sub 49" club for the 10k? I also noticed that my previous best for the 3...

No longer a virgin

OK. Been away for a few days and missed training. Long day at work today and tried to cram in some training before vegging and just after a lovely steak dinner. I started rowing in late August and every time I've tried to beat my previous pace on 10k or 30 mins, I've smashed it. Tonight, I kicked of...

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

New best for 10k: 49:10.8, knocking 48 secs off previous time :-)

Had an enforced absence for a few days and the rest probably helped.

Re: Fall Challenge 2012

Clock another (new) Free Spirit past the 100K mark!

Might have been able to hit 200K, but I've been away twice with no C2 access. Maybe 150K is possible.

Re: Weight Adjusted Rowing Challenges

I'll give it a go and be an unusual sample: still new to the sport and around 88 kg with a high fat ratio (probably). Good for people like me (who want to reduce fat as much as improve times) would be a longer-term 'ladder' or at least repeated comparisons: that way training a bit more and not havin...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Nice ride, Paul. I grew up not far from you and know the area pretty well; you picked a good day for the ride; today is likely to be grotty, no? Zoot - 24K !!!! Well done to you, that's a long way. I might try pushing my 10K to a 15K today, if the family give me the 90 mins or so I'd need. The other...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Cheers, will do. Almost every try is a PB at the moment, as I started 7 weeks ago :-) I've been using the very clever and elegant idea in the Pete Plan: start off at the average speed you managed last time, then give it wellie in the last 10% or so, which should get you a new PB but gives you the ch...

Thanks, Zoot. Hoping to crank out a few more later today. Must try to keep it slow, so I don't kill myself for tomorrow's effort.

Nice one, Paul - combining golf watching and metre generating sounds wise. I normally watch iPlayer or a DVD.

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Did my first sub-50 min 10K last night. I'd had 4 days off the C2, away with work, so not sure if I can do that regularly.

Still on the last page of the C2 rankings for 10K :-)

Re: Fall Challenge 2012

Back on the saddle after 4 days out of country with no C2 access.

68,020 so far and should be able to do some more before going away again next week.

100K seems much more doable than I thought it would be. 200K is very unlikely, though, with these imposed breaks.
