VERY close Alan! Congrats - now you are sooo close, you just know you can do it in a race (and potentially in training by holding the 2nd and third splits).
I was at 7:05.8 in training when I truly believed I could do it in a race (and got my 6:58.4) - been no where near it since mind you!!

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Light years from Nick's achievements but managed a season's best at the HM (I'd have been quite content with just finishing it as the last 6km was an absolute b*tch and REALLY hard not to handle down). Was 1:26:46.0, now 1:26:18.4 Really hard work after the hour point but got there so happy with the...

This was to be a rest day as I RARELY if ever row 5 days on the trot (plus it's too damned hot) - however Mrs Plummy being absent from the house caused an urge to rear it's ugly head to have another go at the CTC. Last attempt in parenthesis 1 ) 1:45.8 ( 1:49.0 ) 2 ) 1:45.6 ( 1:48.6 ) 3 ) 1:44.0 ( 1...

Just think, only 7MM more and you'll be up with Stan. Bob Noble would rattle that off in a few weeks (it may take a mere mortals a bit longer though)

Still plodding along with a weekly Pete Plan session until I feel strong enough to take it on more fully nearer BIRC - (to see if I'm going to embarrass myself or not). Went for 5 x 1500 again as I "quite" like this one. Last month's effort is in parenthesese 1) 5:42.3 / 1:54.1 split (1:55...

The shorts have arrived today! I've not tried them on yet as it's too hot and sticky and they look a little "snug". I think Mrs Plummy may need a private viewing first to decide their suitability for public showings

Sympathies Thomas for getting the potential points/fine. I don't want to start a debate about the rights and wrongs of speeding but I still think getting nabbed doing 36 in a 30 zone is no more than a money grabbing rip off of the already massively beleagured driving population (who ship in £35bn to...

Small claim as it's been very quiet on the achievement front here...
7:16.2 for 2km (previous and only attempt was 7:29.1)
Some nice Nonathlon points. Definitely a little bit more in the tank but taking it VERY steady on sprints. I think sub 7:10 is a way off yet

Re: The fall short of expectations workout thread
It is interesting re the mental demons. If I set out with the clock at 60 minutes, I almost invariably handle down at 35-45 minutes now, whereas if I go for "Just Row", I can keep going to and through the hour mark. I never thought of 3 x 20 minutes and no rest - I may try that - great sug...
