Re: Madchester 2016 - is ON!

My arrival time is based on train times, in theory 12:49 Virgin Trains at Manchester Piccadilly, so probably 3/4 hour from there by the metro tram thingy and then a bit of a walk? Happy to do a 5k row if that fits best with plans of others. I'd aim for time close to PB in my siggy. But we know how P...

Re: April ctc - 2/4/6/8 mins - 1:00'/1:30'/2:00r

Seeing as I got unceremoniously tipped out of Boat IV, I had to try and reclaim my spot. Somehow I've grabbed the front seat in FS IV again, but I'm sure someone will change that for me. Managed 5164m ave 01:56.1 @26spm (was 5116 a couple of days ago). 2min 516m 146 HR 4min 1044m 159 HR (that's alre...

Some nice times posted.

Looks like we need a lady so we can get the fourth boat floated. We seem to be well down on numbers compared to last month :(

Good benchmark times which will give you great targets to attack next season. I think we can all see who will be the Meta Nonathlon leader

Re: 2016 World Erg Challenge

With 10 days to go, Free Spirits seems to be solidly in third place having surpassed 15 million meters with 125 of us recording a paddle or two. There are some serious distances being logged. 4 have logged well over half a million meters each ^O^ and we have over 20 rowers recording over 200,000 met...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

I'll claim another PB. Didn't have a lot of time, but needed to get a row in this morning before work as I won't get a change for much over the next 2-3 days. So thought I'd put my back into a 30minute. Added 34m to my distance from last September to achieve 7307m ave 2:03.1/500. Not a big improveme...

Thanks for the in-depth psychiatric analysis of weight loss  Ever since my 20s I've gradually added weight, A slow process at first then the real beer gut showed itself by my 40s, and it's been downhill from there. Re: it felt really good but could I make it all the way

There is a thread elsewhere on here which discusses the various pros and cons of the PM5. It's good but has it's issues. Make sure it has the current firmware. A gym may not update. I use an 8GB virbatim USB2 which seems OK, most of the time, but corrupts occasionally and that isn't due to battery. ...

Re: CTC - Ski-ergs, sliders and dynamics

If it is a form of rowing then I don't see a problem, but I don't understand the difference the different kit might make. But surely the skierg is a different movement entirely and thus has completely different strengths and weaknesses so should be excluded from a rowing movement based activity?

Re: it felt really good but could I make it all the way

The PMs do like to shut down after any inactivity. You probably get about 60s but pressing a button (display options are best) keeps it alive. Enough for a stretch, water break, but not if you need to run to the loo. It would be nice if Concept could let you change the default. USB get the right one...

Re: it felt really good but could I make it all the way

Congrats on the weight loss. Impressive. All the hours and meters you are putting in is clearly showing results, and to do a HM and now a FM shows how much your stamina is improving. Don't worry about the times, the distances are the real achievement, and if you think about it you get much more of a...
