Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

That looks like it was very painful Rob - well done on the new PB though, still a cracking time!

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club

Well done Iain, nice work on getting 2 in one season. Moved you up a place on the board as well. I don't think Peter S does many/any metres these days so he's there ahead of you to be passed fairly easily ;-)

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Great effort Lesley. All that travelling and I'm sure time differences really does take it out of you more than you'd imagine.

Well done on not up-chucking as well. =D>

Re: New ctc site

Aye, not ideal. Earlier it was the old dead site - so at least it's better than that :-)

I needed it today to enter my latest post injury 2k PB - 9:15.0 - woohoo!! (not that I'm "cured" just less bad than I was) :-(

Hi Jon - is the plan over time to switch the link tab at the top of the Forum page to take us to the new site?

Re: Name that tune

The "cherry wine" reference is driving me mad because I'm sure I recall some debate on the radio as to whether there was such a thing. Good one Ian...got me scratching my head.

Sorry to hear of Jayne's illness - that must have been (and probably still is) really traumatic. Hopefully the shiny new erg will help with the convalescence/recovery.

Re: March CTC: 2K

First 2k yesterday since injury - 10:07.0 Lots of stretching this morning after physio beating me up with power tool pummeller yesterday - pulled it down to 9:26.1 (actually got a bit sweaty and breathy). Held 22spm to avoid over-stretching anything. I'm actually pretty happy with that for progress.

Re: Injuries.....:(

A further update for anyone who's interested. I'm still going for physio every Friday and she's handing me more and more exercise sheets to follow - I think I'm up to 12 sides of A4 now. I've told her that I can't do more than 4~5 per session because my hip gets sore after the first 2~3 anyway, so s...

Re: February CTC: Sprint Sandwich

Thanks for the welcome back guys. Given the pain my hip and glute is in this morning, I'm currently regretting going anywhere near the erg last night. Maybe it would have been the same if I hadn't rowed - who knows! I'm just waiting for the Naproxen to kick in so I can function (can neither sit or s...

Re: February CTC: Sprint Sandwich

Very slow, and very careful but managed my furthest row (by some margin) in 3~4 months to get a score for the team - 20:59.9. Sorry it's so rubbish

I'm actually almost a bit sweaty!

Re: WELCOME to New Members

Hello Kay - thank you for choosing Free Spirits and you are most welcome. Also I'd like to throw out a thank you to Frans for the good things he has been saying about us. 35 million is a LONG way and 350 HMs is incredible - our Mr Mike Channin has done a lot but I don't think anything like that many...

Re: Carole Mc Memorial Row

Only second row back after 3 months of illness and injury. Glad its the taking part that counts. Thought that 2:10 pace would be no issue and then speed up as no idea what my pace currently is. Well quickly hit 95% Max heart rate and struggled to hang on. My feeble attempt at a "sprint" g...

Re: Injuries.....:(

Thanks all. Still on the diet of "baby steps". I had health service physio yesterday who said one set of things then saw a musculo-skeletal specialist at my local GP who poo-poo'd the steroid injection in my hip because he said that my issues are all still L4/L5 nerve related and I need to...
