More good training being posted.
No rowing for me this week but 19700m of swimming- probably one of my biggest weeks.
Did a 4000m session today - my longest for at least 3 years

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

It has DOUBLED our machines drag factor But as its old its max is still only just over 200 unlike Pauls superior 300 plus lol I will try it out properly tmrw and Pete is encouraged to clock a few metres after a long absence  Just over 200 is fine - I only get df 300+ readings because I hav...

Closed the pool early today - did 96 lengths(2400m) as a nod towards the Queen's age when she passed.

Well done David - any time you can complete a 60 min then you have achieved something- to my mind it is the toughest ranking row from a mental and physical point of view

Good training going on^O^ Quiet few days for me : Thurs - swim 1500m Fri : Swim 1500m Row - 5000m - df 350 - spm 18.6 Paul I dread to think what you view as a low drag factor!!! I view 90 as a low drag factor, I just never use it(I doubt I would manage sub-3:00 pace on that setting) Wh...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Nice to see this thread revived and to see so many good sessions posted. I have been easing my way back after summer(don't enjoy the heat, from a training point of view). On the rowing side I have reverted to my favoured high DF(340-370) andwas initially rating at around 24 spm to build up fitness. ...

Thanks Jon, Dave

Starting to enjoy the erg again - got a sub-8 2k this morning after a steady 5k - no record books being rewritten but at least it is progress 😀

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

Made some progress today - managed to break 7k for 30 mins in my 3rd row of the day. Still re-building my strength after the latest lay-off(Plummy I see now where you are coming from re advancing age  ) - back on my favoured max DF which feels much better too. Today's rows: 1. 5000m - 22:26.2 -...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Sat down to get a head-start on Week 4 of the Dog Days of Summer with a one-hour paddle. Half-way through, I realized I could up my pace a bit to threaten my SB. Turned into a PB even after starting my sprint a bit too early and having to HD very briefly at the 1:45 mark. Logical brain kicked in an...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

For myself, I am sick and tired of ' wokeness ' and anyone who takes offence at me calling myself a woman can take a running jump.🤬 Well said Jill - until I read your post I was thinking of identifying as a 12 year-old girl in order to have a go at the 2k record but I'm now re-considering  :lo...
