Re: Height / Weight and 2k performance

Hi Greg,

Filled in. Will be interesting to see the results. IIRC Philip 'won' last year. Suspect Guy will rank highly this time.

Never used row pro but that still made me laugh! Whatever makes you row faster .

Re: The Interactive Plan (IP)

Interesting point about the relative speed (4 mins for me is 1,160m). When I look at the IP using the link above it is totally different from the written document. Based on a 2k time of 6:52.0 I have taken A) the mid point from the link and compared it to B) the document. The 5 bands are... A. 2.08....

Re: The Interactive Plan (IP)

Completely tanked the 4x4 TR this morning... This is the workout from hell! It was only recently I re-read the Training Pace Guide and noticed the greater or equal sign. So I have always taken TR pace to be 2k race pace. Or to be precise for a 4x4 I do a race start and then row at mid race pace whi...

Christmas Present Ideas / Heart Rate Monitor

Christmas is coming and I'm hoping Santa is going to bring me a heart rate monitor. So I would welcome any thoughts you have on which one is best. Having searched online, Polar, Wahoo TICKR and Garmin get frequent mentions. But which works best and importantly which is the most comfortable? Also do ...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2018 / 2019

Team Philip Not having done a hard distance for ages I really wasn't sure what to expect. But I was hoping for at least one of the following: match Felton's impressive time, go faster than my 6k PB pace, go sub 23 mins or have an adjusted score of sub 21 mins. Unfortunately it was really tough and I...

Re: November CTC - 11x111 r1

Max, you hopefully recovered from your great performance last weekend. And remember a long row is much better than these crazy sprints for the CTC, they are not good for your back anyway, so no need to put your efforts there [emoji12] Sorry Tako! Today's choice was CTC or IRL and I chose CTC so tha...

Re: Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships 2018

Does anyone know if the results will be uploaded to the rankings and if so are they linked to your logbook or should I manually enter my 2k time? Last year I'm pretty sure that they were not automatically loaded which is odd as they are for BRIC. Anyway I've added mine manually for now as it's easy...

Guy Blackburn sets new British Record!

Huge congratulations to Guy. As well as winning 2 golds at SRIC yesterday he recently set a new British record. His distance of 1,250m for the 4 minute IRL in September has been officially recognised by Concept2 as a new British record. Well done Guy, that really is supercalifragilisticexpialidociou...

Re: Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships 2018

Nice rowing Felton. Yesterday was my last 2k TT, race start and pace but without a fast finish. It was tough but I hope with rested legs there will be something left in the tank for that final sprint. Today is tapering, 4x500 with plenty rest to practise starts. P.S. Given your great form, once you ...
