Well I just missed a sub 7' 2K today by 2 stinking tenths of second, but I did lower my season's best by 6.3 seconds. The good news is that because I didn't vomit after, I know I can go faster ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Thanks, all! Was aiming for something like a 2:08/500m pace and nearly took a bathroom break at 10k but kept feeling stronger as I went along.

Thanks, Jill. I try to make sure I listen to my body, but I have been known to overdo things in the past. Also, not really shrinking. To quote Sophia Loren, "Everything you see I owe to spaghetti."

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Thanks, Tako! The 40k day earlier in the week was split 10k and 30k between morning and evening, so not that bad, but yes it was a heavy week. With a proper taper beforehand, I think I might crack 2:50.

Be careful Ian, I have gone through this cycle several times in my life, including a fracture in November '18. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Thanks Ian! For the lifetime stats I did do some CTCs way back in the depths of time: Jul, Aug, Oct of 06, and Jan and Feb of 07.

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Finally fully recovered from my cracked rib in November and have been feeling pretty strong recently. Set SBs in 500, 2000, 6000, 10000, 30', and Half Marathon since 2/17. Hoping to knock off a few of my 13 year old PBs this year (and maybe drop those last 3 lbs back to lightweight status). Cheers, ...

Thanks, Tako! I'm a little worried I might have or might be about to induce a posterior rib stress fracture, thus explaining my peri-scapular upper back pain. Going to back off for a few days and see what develops before consulting the doctor.

Despite something funky going on in my scapula since Friday I had a go at bumping Tako from boat II today (sorry Tako!), but I came up just short. I lost the pace in the second interval. One more try on Wednesday I think.

First go at the October CTC, still getting back in shape after long hiatus ... (since roughly 2006-2007!) with a few attempts at getting back on the horse here and there.
