Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Some really solid training here 8) Ian - consistent as ever, with ongoing improvements =D> Don’t beat yourself up over the R18 pace - that’s always going to depend on 2 factors: power and the length of the drive. Unfortunately you can only change one of those! (assuming technique is good which I’m s...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Better start to the day today..

Started with a 30R20 with 30” power strokes at the end of each 10’ split. Felt pretty strong

Then 1/2 hour weights session

Re: Rowing meets Cycling - Rowing on Zwift

Jumping out of the fairytale world for a moment...

is this a new Zwift for Rowing? That's what John Steventon (of Rowalong fame) is asking. Looks interesting

Re: Rowing meets Cycling - Rowing on Zwift

Thanks Claudius :D I enjoyed my journey of fantasy through your stream of consciousness, making sure to keep my hands and feet inside the carriage at all times. Reaching the end, I must confess to having immediately re-joined the queue for another ride. As your monitor pairs with Zwift, I imagine yo...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Really solid improvement on those 3’ intervals Ian =D> =D> Another 30’ today, and I’m impressed with the way John has provided structure and variety into these half-hour sessions to keep interesting what would otherwise be a fairly repetitive training plan This one was a fairly easy 30R20, but with ...

Well done on the Zwift sessions Claudius - I can only imagine that it really helps with the motivation for longer rows. Good work guys  Nice when you can see a 30’ session as a warm-up Claudius :D That volume work will surely pay dividends, especially When combined with the weights stuff. Nice 30’ Spider, and very tidy negative split throughout =D> Mix for me over the last few days with a weights session on ...

Well done Ian, Joe and Jon =D> =D> =D> I tried this one last Sunday in place of my scheduled 5x5’ session (seemed like a good swap). Unfortunately it turned out that what initially felt like a comfortable pace was too spicy with the (inevitably for a CTC) miserly 1’ rest periods. I baled out on the ...
